Check the printer to ensure no pieces of paper are left in or jammed in the mechanical parts. Turn the printer and computer off. Start the printer, and then start the computer with all cables connected.

Ia all else fails, Google search your manufacturer make and model and the word manual. If one is available, you can find it in the search results.

I own a Canon Image Class MF 4550 d. This morning

Try turning the printer off and back on. If this does not work, try rebooting your computer. Another choice is to go to the Control Panel > Programs > Unistall a Program and delete the printer's software, reboot your computer and re-install the printer's softwre.
If this does not work, you can always return your printer for a full refund or ask them to exchange it for a new one.

Paper jam cleared no tears message still appearing clear paper jam than pressk OK have open the printer checked thoroughly turned off 8 times and on again. No paper jams all cleared.

When you turn off the printer unplug it from power and the computer for a few minutes. Plug only the power back in and turn it on. Also consult the manual to find out how to "reset" your printer.

Hope this helps

Top feeder jam

Yes. When removing a jam, it is never wise to "aggressively" remove the paper, as it can break switches, gears, etc. maybe any switches or gears had damanged, need replacement of that parts.

Was printing 14 page document from internet then got message to clear paper jam. I cleared paper jam and now when I try to print page 2 a blank page comes out

You will have to reset the printer, Unplug from wall, unplug from PC, reboot, Now, plug in Power to printer, & plug in USB on PC, reboot. When at desktop next, well, now try printing again.

Printer says clear paper jam then press reset

Could there possibly be:

A) Paper jammed internally: Power Off. Open the cover and remove the paper or scrap carefully. Do not touch the internal printer parts. Close the cover. Power on.

B) Foreign objects in printer: Power Off. Open the paper support and confirm that there is no foreign material in the auto sheet feeder. (If so, remove it by hand or with tweezers). Open the front cover and confirm that there is no foreign material in the unit. Avoid touching the inner workings of the machine.

C) Reset the printer:

1. Turn the printer off with the Power button

2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer

3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. Attach data cable.

4. Turn the printer back on.

If all of these suggestions fail, your iP1600 may require repair service. Please note: With the suggested retail price of $29.99 USD, repair does not seem cost effective - you could just go out and purchase a new printer.

My printer is frozen in shutting down mode

Paper is jammed, open the hood and remove the paper. Be careful otherwise you may end up opening few screws to completely remove the paper.

My printer will not turn on.

Try resetting it by unplugging the data cable, then the power. Leave the power cord unplugged for a few minutes. While this is happening, go ahead and reboot the computer. Then, plug in the data cable first - and then re-plug the power. See if it will turn on at this point.
