How do I fix a kohler dual flush toilet that won't seal even with a new gasket seal at the base of the flush tower?

Kohler persuade dual flush toilet. I put a new flush valve kit seal on but it still leaks water into the tank causing it to refill every 30 seconds or so.

SOURCE: Toilet Refills Every 15-Minutes

I have minute amount of leakage into the bowl causing mold to grow. I believe that it may be the rubber seal for the flapper body to the porcelain.

SOURCE: valve adjustment

You need to replace the flapper and you will need to purchase one specifically for the Kohler toilet. I have the same toilet and tried using a generic flapper and from experiance, it didn't work until I bought the correct one and I'm a plumber! Have a great night.

My kohler persuade toilet won't fill up

Kenny, the gurgling sound is coming from a stoppage in the air vent located above the toilet on the roof. It has to be open to allow proper drawing of air to pull the contents from the toilet. You also have something lodged in the trap as the water goes out. If a snake doesn't clean it out, then you probably will need to take the toilet up and clean from the bottom side. You can a hose with a sprayer and bllast out from the bottom and most of the time that will free up the blockage.

You can look at the gasket thats hooked between the flush valve and the toilet and see if its in bad shape and letting water get past it and eventully flushing your toilet. If its bad i would try to find one similar or drain the holding tank and use a little clear water proof silicone on it. Use a paper clip to clean out the hose going to the flush valve and you should be good to go.

I can see water trickeling on the bottom of the overflow tube. Already replaced gasket and removed the fill tube. Very slow, about every 20 min. the fill valve kicks on for about 5 sec.

The problem is your flapper. It is leaking water into the bowl, causing the valve to kick in as the water level slowly drops in the tank. It will also solve most condensation issues as well.

Float does not trigger valve to stop water - continues to run even though tank is full

What kind of flush valve is it? kohler.com shows a couple of different towers with their ingenium toilets. Is it a Kohler item or is it a Fluidmaster?
Usually you adjust water height by turning a threaded rod that runs up and down. See page 5 of this pdf

I'm about to install a kohler ''persuade'' dual flush toilet bowl but I found out that the slot where you put the 2 screws wasn't in there so what should i DO?

Are you talking about the slot where the two screws hold the base down to the floor?

If so, that is called a closet flange. You will need to pick one up at Home Depot or Lowes. There are various kinds. If your floor is a concrete pad then you may have to get one that just slides down inside your waste pipe. It can be glued in. If you are upstairs and have a wooden sub floor you can get one with treated deck screws to screw into the floor.

If you have a digital camera, tale close up pictures of the waste site and take them to the store and show them to someone who works in the department. He will know what you need.
