So when plugged in it always just runs on the pulse? I would assume that this is an issue with the control board inside. If this is brand new return it to the store and exchange for a different blender.
You could also contact Krups to see how they work their warranties but you most likely need the control board replaced and that is something a service center would have to do for you.
