To be honest, I would send back to Columbia. Water resistant watches are not only tricky, but you risk losing the warranty on your watch as well.
I would go to link and follow instructions:
Dont do it yourself.. it might break if u apply too much pressure. GO to your nearest watch center and ask them to replace the battery for you.. Its better to spend a little money than to buy a new watch!
Go to the columbia website and contact customer service for a manual. It is also possible that you can simply "google" for a manual or users guide for the model of watch. Similar columbia watch models will probably work the same way. In fact, it's unlikely they make their own, so it is probably a Casio watch or similar. Any jeweller who replaces batteries should also be able to help.
Open watch caseback. Undo the contact covering the battery. Read the writings on battery and buy exactly the same one. Get the old battery out and replace with the new one exactly the same way as it was. Redo the contact. Put caseback back on. Reset the watch.
