Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. You have to check the audio settings of your tv. There would be n option which allow you to choose the option between internal speakers or external speaker. You have to choose it as external speakers of amplifier.

Sound

Your TV has both analog and digital sound output jacks. You will need to connect to an audio amplifier/speaker system that can use either of these types of audio signals. Consult your TV user manual for more info.

Just connect an external speaker in place of internal one, and check. Thus, you can make sure that the speaker is OK. If so, replace the speaker. How do l connect my t7900 to my laptop

Hi williams225

Creative 7.1 PC Speaker System/External USB 7.1 Sound Card/Sound Adapter

I assume your "t7900" is a Creative 7.1 PC Speaker System. If it is not, please add a Comment or Clarification Request to this question clarifying what your "t7900" is. Such clarifications greatly assist Solution Providers in their quest to provide relevant, accurate, helpful answers.

In order for you to be able use all the available outputs to the creative t7900 speakers, you need to plug in a USB 2.0 External Sound Card/Sound Adapter to bypass your laptop's single built-in Headphone and Microphone Jacks.

The adapter has 3 Outputs (for al 7 Front Centre, Subwoofer, Tweeters and Mid Range Speakers) as well as 1 Microphone Input.

See here for some examples of economy, mid-range and luxury External USB 7.1 Sound Cards/Adapters:

How do I connect to an external speaker, for better output from my LG LCD 42 inch?

It sounds like you are wanting better sound on your home theater.

If this is the case, you can invest in a surround sound receiver and run audio from your sources to the receiver (rather than to the tv).

Basically you would hook your cable/satellite, dvd/bluray, and other items into the surround sound receiver using HDMI, Optical, or RCA-style Stereo wiring.

Once this is done, you can run a single HDMI from your surround sound to your television for the crisp awesome video that your LCD will produce!

If you are looking to run an external speaker directly from your television, it has to be powered on its own, as the television's output audio isnt that strong.

In essence what you would be purchasing is a very wide bar (that is a speaker) that is powered, and has an audio processor built right in!

These are the solutions that I would recommend. If you appreciate them, please vote!

I am trying to connect a speaker in a shower connected to a tv. The speaker has conventional black and red bare wire connections. How can I connect this to my tv so that I can hear sound from this speaker.

User manual:
http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/4/42pfl7403d_10/42pfl7403d_10_dfu_eng.pdf

As you can see in the user manual, this TV does not have connectors for the external speakers.
It has Headphone out (not strong enough to drive the speakers) and audio line level outputs (not for driving speakers either).
So for you to use the external speakers, you will need a small amplifier that will accept the signals from the headphone or audio line out from the TV to drive your speakers.
As you can see, it will not be easy setup if you do not like to have extra component installed.
You can look for small amp at Radio Shack.
I hope I explain it clear enough without confusing you.
Please leave rating if it helps.

No sound from audio output This set is new.

The speakers need some kind of amplification, if you have something like a set of computer speakers connected and they are not powered they won't work, try connecting them to the headphone jack.
Let me know the set up, what kind of speakers, audio settings from the tv menu.

19 inch LCD TV

Hi, Chances the Audio L/R are line level (can not drive speakers) other than they can either be output or inputs. If they are inputs, they are connected to a source such as a DVD player or if they are outputs, connects to an external amplifier where external speakers maybe connected. hope this be of some help/idea. Post should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
