There is no such thing as a 'Default Code'. Each one leaves the factory with a different code and instructions how to change the code to one of your own.
A locksmith can get in using a rare earth puck magnet to pull the electronic bolt. Or if you jump through some hoops, SentrySafe will send you a new key. Keeping the key INSIDE the safe is nuts.

SentrySafe is committed to providing you the support you need. To find your model or serial number, identify your safe type from the options below.
Note: Whenever you can get the safe open, the model number and the serial number for the safe may be printed on a label inside the safe, probably on the safe door somewhere. Write that model number and serial number down and keep it in a safe place (not inside the safe) along with the safe combination, which you will need to set.
Once the safe is open and you have the safe serial number, go to this web page: https://www.sentrysafe.com/support/lost-key-combo
Choose the "Combo Replacement Process" link. Follow the on-screen directions.
Each Brinks 5059 safe has a different default combination, so to get the original combination you must either contact Honeywell (the parent company for Brinks safes) at 1-800-223-8566.
You need to send them a notarized letter showing safe ownership in order to get the master combination. When you call Honeywell, you will need to provide your safe's model number, the serial number (found on the right of the safe, near the model number), and your key number.
To order replacement keys, for small chests and files, you will need to know the key numbers which can be found right around where the key goes in. It should be a stamped number, letters, or both located around the keyhole. For Personal, Home and Home/Office Safes, you will need the model number and serial number. I think that the most economical place to buy keys is from www.SentrySafeShop.com. You can do a search for "lost keys" and it will give you a screen where you can enter your model number and key number. (It is a very easy screen to use. They just need 1.)Model # and 2.)Serial or Key #.)
In Summary: For Small Chests or Files: A lock reference number is required. It will be a letter, a number, a letter and number, or "blank" (no letter or number), engraved/located on the silver cylinder of the lock. These are model numbers 0500, 1100, 1170, etc...
Call the number above, give them your model #, the serial number
(located on the right side of the safe next to the model number), and
your key code. They will provide you with the combination to your safe. your combination number will be provided to you immediately.
