Here's instructions on how to find what model of Kindle you have -
http://glyde.com/glydecast/how-to/which-kindle-do-you-have/

There are no "drivers" for kindle. There are "installer files". Once you determine what model of kindle you have, do a search for Kindle Installer Files for your model, download and install them.

I guess there should be a way to identify the model of Kindle. It should have the model registered somewhere, maybe in settings, so you should make a google search for the driver to your Operating System (i.e. Windows 7)

My Kindle battery will not take a charge?

You need to turn the unit on to see the model or serial number, we would try another charger letting it charge for a hour to see if it would accept a charge or turn on.

Sounds like your power cord is dead and that it's not charging. If it's new bring it back to the store you bought it from and get a new one.
