My Garmin Novi can not find a satellite signal in Florida?

Assuming that your GPS can receive a satellite signal in other states, then it is likely the placement of your GPS in your vehicle. The satellites are in fixed orbit, so as you move southward, their position in the horizon changes relative to you. As a check, turn your GPS on outside of your vehicle with a clear line of sight to the heavens (no trees, buildings, etc.). You should get a satellite signal. If you still do not, then you have a problem with your unit. If you do get a signal outside, then rearrange placement of your GPS inside your vehicle.

GPS Garmin 1450 poor satelittle signal- can't find satelittloes

If the Garmin nuvi 1450 could find satellites at the same location and time before there's something wrong with the built-in receiver / antenna. Because it's not accessible from the outside it needs to be opened to check the antenna connections. Best is to check battery at the same time and replace it - once the problem is fixed.

At some locations there can be poor GPS sat reception - due to line of sight obstructions, such as trees, buildings. For a 2D fix it needs to "see" at least 3 satellites signals.

No satellite signal

Some vehicles have a coating in the windshield that can interfere with the GPS unit receiving the satellite signal. It is not the unit's fault. You may need to purchase an external antenna to allow your unit to work inside your vehicle. These are available at or at your local GPS retailer.

Garmin Streetpilot c310 Battery / Receiver problem

The lighter coloured facia part pops off if you gentley prize it off with a knife or small screwdriver. You can then see the screws that how the outer housing together. unscrew them to get to the battery. The battery has a aluminium cover over it with the batttery stuck to it with tape. Unscrew the top fixings of the cover and prize off the battery. I then cut the wires near the battery (one at a time) so i could solder the new battery in the circuit.

Garmin Nuvi Firmaware Update Complete, Unable to catch satellite signal

So what happens when you connect it to the PC?
Make sure no sd cards are installed while you do this.
download and install web updater, run it it gets to a screen where it looks for the gps, plug the usb cable into the GPS (no USB hubs please!!!) Make sure it detects the GPS before you continue. Select the updates you need (don't install all the languages !!) after this is done the program will report the downloads are on the garmin, unplug the unit and it will reboot and whilst rebooting it will install the don't touch it until it reboots again and displays the regular screen....and make sure the batery is fully charged before you do this...!

Help no display

If you pull off the front outer surround trim panel (prize off just underneath the garmin logo) you'll find a reset button. That should fix it for you.
