First of all try holding the home button down and press and hold the power button down while its plugged into the charger ( hard restet ) keep them both held down untill you see the apple logo...with a bit luck this will start the charging cycle again

try again but make sure you push both buttons down at the same time and hold them down ? this should hardboot it. it will take good timing. if that fails it will need a new battery installed

also try cleaning the port where the charger plugs into.. dust and dirt could stop the charger working too

My ipod wont turn on or charge

Use the Five Rs to restore the iPod. You will lose the data that is currently on it if you restore but you can always re-sync the data to the iPod. http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

My ipod wont turn on or charge.

More than likely the battery just needs to be replaced. I let my nano go dead and it was doing the same thing. So just get it replaced and that should fix your problem.

My ipod wont start and wont show up in my computer or itunes

Have you changed the power cable? most likely faulty power cable. but if that doesnt fix it your ipod has an internal problem and needs to be sent in for repair I had same problem but new cable fixed it.

The new ipod nano

How old is it? if it's under warranty apple may fix it.
Simply, if you charge your iPod through you computer then the battery could be damaged. USB ports only put out 5 volts. If you have an AC charger that puts out 9.5 volts then consider charging it with that. Some AC adapters only put out 5 volts for the purpose matching the USB standard, but it's not good for the ipod.
