hi from uk there is an adaptor for this pupose it is known as a YPIECE which has the facility to have two pipes to connect to one cold fill machine not expensive it may also be called a collector breaching in your location?

Most washers now made in the u/k, are cold fill only, but if the new washer is hot and cold fill, and you only have a cold supply, then it will tell you in the installation guide how to connect it to use it from cold only.
Plz rate my solution.

You don't need hot and cold connected to your machine you can use just cold, but you DO need a supply of some kind to both valves, or your machine will stop when it comes to the rinse cycle and it won't distribute fabric conditioner. Ask for a cold fill adaptor from any plumbers merchants. It looks like a plastic Y the single stem connects onto your cold supply tap and the two hoses from the machine connect onto the top of the Y. The machine will take longer to do a wash but it will work perfectly.

Make sure the hoses are connected correctly to the water valve on the machine. The connections will be marked with an "H" and a "C".
Given they are correct, most current washing machines have and auto temp feature on the water fill. It allows even cold water settings to bring in some hot water to make sure the water temp is hot enough to efficiently disolve your laundry detergant. The preset temps are usually around 75* for cold, and 105* for warm. Hot water comes in at whatever temp your household water temp is.
