Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

Why does the motor run for 3 seconds then turn off?

Won't restart until wall switch turned off, then repeats the same. It doesn't appear to be blocked anywhere.

Hoover spirit 900 canister wont turn on?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If the vacuum cleaner motor does not run the motor itself might be burned out. Check the power switch first to be sure the motor can get power. Then, be sure the motor shaft can turn freely, that nothing is obstructing it. If the motor can turn freely and is getting power but still won't run it will need to be replaced
If the vacuum cleaner motor doesn't run the on - off switch might be turned off or defective. Test the switch with an Ohm meter or continuity checker.

My roller bush won't turn ever time i put a new

1) you need a little tight the belt, with the bolts of motor.
2) you must shure if the belt if NOT large or short( in both cases the rollers will NOT run. can be slip. or too TIGHT. and BRAKE the motor.
3) the motor you must test for brush, switch, or open winding.
4) put a little lube in the extreme of shaft rollers, see by turning at hand if they run of course unplugged the power cord.
God bless you

It won't turn on

Have you checked the cords for a possible break preventing the machine from getting power. Use a AC volt meter to diagnose this. Many times the wires at the plug that goes in the wall break and it is the most common problem. Other issues are a defective motor and a defective on/off switch.

I have a brand new KitchenAid mixer that is 5 years old and never used. I unpacked it this morning and it won't turn on, no noise, no movement, nothing. Help.

Please check manually the motor and see if it moves freely. Now make sure that the power plug and the connections to the switch are not tampered , check the continuity of the plug to the switch and to the motors.
If you notice any dirt or insects make sure that this has not clogged on the motor. If so clean using a degreasing spray- WD40- would be recommended.
If the motor is tight , lightly oil or degrease using the spray while manually rotating.
Once this is done connect the power while taking all precaution. Use the meter to check the flow of the circuit to the switch and to the motor. If there is a trip switch see that it is reset.
If there is power to the motor and still it does not work the brushes might be dirty and might need a cleaning/ reset.

How do I program a Micronta programmable timer--I set the time to have it go on, but how do I set it to go off?

LCD Programmable Timer (630-0892) Operation Faxback Doc. # 17153 Setting The Time and Day Follow these steps to set the current time and day. 1. Slide RUN/PROG/TIME SET to TIME SET. 2. Press HOUR to set the hour digits. Pressing and holding down HOUR rapid- ly advances the hour digits. NOTE: P appears to the left of the hour digits to indicate P.M. hours. 3. Press MIN (minute) to set the minutes digits. Pressing and holding down MIN rapidly advances the minute digits. 4. Press DAY until the correct day abbreviation appears. 5. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. The colon flashes to show the clock is running. NOTE: Keep this switch set to RUN to prevent accidentally changing the time. Setting The Timer The timer has 14 settings (1-14). Odd numbered settings specify a time to turn on the appliance and even numbered settings specify a time to turn off the appliance. Follow these steps to set your timer. 1. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to PROG. The display shows the first setting. If you have not entered any setting, the display appears as shown in the illustration. 2. Press Event to select a setting to enter or change. 3. Press Hour to set the HOUR digits and press MIN to set minute digits to the correct time. NOTE: Be sure P appears to the left of the hour digits when you want to set a P.M. hour. 4. Press Day to select the day of the week for this setting. If you want the setting to apply to every day of the week, repeatedly press DAY until all day indicators appear on the display. 5. When you finish entering the setting, press EVENT. The timer advances to the next setting. 6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to enter additional settings. NOTES: Be sure to set the timer to turn off the appliance. The appli- ance remains on as long as there is power if you do not set a time for the appliance to turn off. To replace an existing event, select its setting number and set the new event time. To clear an event, select its setting number and press CLEAR twice. Be sure to clear both the on time and the off time for an event. If you set the timer to turn on the appliance every day, be sure to also set the timer to turn off the appliance every day. 7. Set the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. NOTE: You must set this switch to RUN to turn on or off the appliance either automatically or manually. When the timer automatically turns on the appliance, ON appears on the display and the indicator lights red. When the appliance turns off, the indicator turns off. Reviewing The Settings To review the settings in your timer, set RUN/PROG/TIME SET to PROG. Setting 1 appears on the display. Repeatedly press EVENT to view the other settings. NOTE: To determine event being programmed, pull the power for a period of 5 minutes. Then re-power the unit. The first event will be "ON" and the next will be "OFF", etc. There will be a number to the side of the display that tells you which event you are programming, The even numbers are "OFF" and the odd numbers are "ON" events. The vacuum stopped running and won't turn back on?

While there's no reset button it's not uncommon for the internal thermal switch to trip to an "open" position. This internal, no-access-switch opens when the motor gets hot, it protects the motor from overheating to the point of failure. Bissell's website states that if the thermal switch is tripped let the vacuumm sit for a half hour and then it try it again.

If it doesn't work you might then try Tech610's suggestions.
