Polaroid Flat Screen 26" TV

Hi,
I have a flat screen 26" Polaroid TV that is almost 2 years old. I played a DVD on it and it worked fine. When I went to turnn on the TV again there was a large, black rectangle box on the screen that starts at the bottom of the screen and blocks most of the screen, except for the top part of the screen. The TV works fine with a DVD or tape, but how do I remove this box from the screen? Is therre anything that I can press on my remote?
I do have an extended warantee on the TV but have not been able to locate where I put it.
Thanks,
Barbara Landau

Polaroid 37" flat screen tv - gray rectangle bar stretches across the screen. Have to change screen with channel change or just a change in volume to cause that display on the tv and the bar goes away. May come back 5 minutes later.

I have similar problem with my 37" Polaroid flat screen. Every once in a while a horizontal bar, around 6" high appears in lower half of screen. It will go away by changing the channel or even by changing the volume to make a change on the screen. Could I just need some higher quality, gold plated cables?

My Polaroid flat screen tv started smoking and the picture went off, but there was still sound. What happened and can it be fixed? This tv is only 2 years old.

It can be repaired, however, the cost is probably going to be in the area of $200.00 or so. Unfortunately these were not reliable sets. I have repaired way to many of them to recommend repairing it.

Picture went black

The backlight inverter board may have gone out, or the power supply for the inverter may have gone out. If it is two years old, you should look at the power supply first for bad capacitors.

Unable to retrieve picture on TV

when the screen becomes snowy, it means that something in the cable box is being overheated. what you should do is take a small desk fan and hold it beside the cable box. this has happened many times when my family has played on their xbox 360, and the desk fan solved this problem. i hope that this helps!

Insignia Flat Screen TV - no cable signal

Hi, need some help here. I have a flat screen tv that will not go on. Its not even 2 years old. Yet I had to keep trying the wall outlet to get it to turn on. Now it won't go on at all. The tv light use to be blue when it was on. Now its pink? Should I ask santa for another, or can this be repaired without too much fuss/cost? Thanks!!!!

Pink screen

When the "pink screen" happens on my Polaroid FLM-1911 TV, I unplug the power cord from the back of the unit, wait 30 seconds, and replug it. This fixes the problem.
