Where can I find a manual for a Falcon adventurer bike? I haven't ridden it for a few years and can't remember how to work the gears

It means its an 18 speed bike. The shifting is easy. Start with the left side, begin riding, keep pedaling, don't stop pedaling in ther middle of a shift, it will throw the chain. As you ride, twist the shift grip, up and back. Still pedaling? Now after you have tried that one, try the other side, its the rear with 6 gears. Up and back, keep pedaling. After you have tried each individually, try them together. And now you're shifting. Looking good
. KEEP Pedaling

Need to reduce the tension the manual clutch pedal requires

To reduce the pressure on the pedal would mean reducing the spring tention on the clutch idler pulley, this in turn would probably allow the belt to slip and reduce drive, i have seen a long bar welded onto a clutch pedal so as it could be used by hand.

How do I remove the pedals on a 8500 life fitness recumbent bike

Replacement Parts for Fitness Exercise Equipment at SPORTSMITH

Using a wrench, you remove the left pedal as you would loosen a normal, left hand threaded bolt. The right side is a reverse thread and would need to be loosened in the opposite direction.

Pedal threads r stripped . How do I remove the crank to replace it?

You might decide to get ther threads repaired. Sometimes just a new pedal ( with a little longer thread) will tighten up just fine. Realise that theirs a left and right pedal and if you try to put them on the wrong side you'll have problems. If the right side is the only one that's damaged you can have ( or do it yourself) a thread insert installed. If it can be repaired this way it'll be alot cheaper than crank replacement. The bike needs to be valuable to warrent replacing the crank as you can get to the value of the bike quickly doing a crank repair. ( if it's a cheap ( wally world) bike you just need to go on down to wally world and get another bike. I'd chack to see if you can get the parts to fix the bike before i'd take it apart. Most machine shops will fix the threads without taking any thing apart. Get you some good pedals and just have a welder tack weld them so they'll stay on. and ride on.

Trying to replace the pedal, cannot get the existing pedal off of the bike. It is the left pedal shaft that will not come off. The bike is a Schwinn 220 excersise bike

Are you sure that you're turning it correctly? The left pedal on almost all properly designed bike pedals turns counter-clockwise to remove, the opposite direction to normal.it's to ensure that normal forward pedalling action cannot unscrew the pedal.

On June 18, 2011, we purchased a pacific cycle for our grandson's birthday. On June 22, we returned the bike because while riding it, the pedal came off and he fell off the bike. He was not injured. ...

Not necessarily a defect in materials but perhaps a defect in assembly. WHO installed the pedals and what tool was used? I'd bet the box a store can't even name the person who did it and they used an adjustable wrench.

This is one reason for never buying a bicycle from anywhere BUT a real Local Bicycle Shop where they know what they're doing and will stand behind the product and their workmanship.

The left pedal is left threaded.

Besides it is the rider's responsibility to assess the mechanical soundness of the bike EVERY time before riding it.

Search Engine this "abc quick check bicycles" and learn the procedures that may prevent further injury.

It depends on the crank fitting type. You have to undo the screw/bolt in the crank in the place where it is screwed in to the bottom bracket axle and then pull the crank off the axle. You may need to obtain crank removal tool, as some cranks are fitted so tight, they can not be removed without it.

I would like to remove the pedals to teach my child to ride on 2 wheels but cannot find the manual

In my tips and tricks section is a link to the manual. You can also take the bike into any bike shop and generally they are happy to pop the pedals off for you. You need a pedal wrench to remove the pedals, so if you don't own one then this is the simplest and cheapest solution.
