TV Powers on only after reconnecting MAINBOARD

TV does not turn on until I disconnect the MAINBOARD from the POWER SUPPLY and RECONNECT the mainboard, then it will work fine...until next morning then I'll have to do it again. Its a pain having to disconnect the mainboard and reconnect it again and again. Is it the powersupply or mainboard?

Fault in the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

It wasn't the powersupply. The connecting the motherboard trip stopped working. In the end it was the mainboard replacement that did the trick.

  • xxsicrokerxx Apr 28, 2015

I don't think its that. I use the remote control to turn off/on the tv. I feel its a fault power supply or mainboard, learning more towards powersupply, unless you feel otherwise?

HP multi function 4500 won't power on

Most likely a faulty power transformer, but could also be a mainboard fault. If you leave the transformer unplugged from mains for about half an hour, then reconnect it and check the following.

If no power up at all = Naffed transformer. You may score one from a service tech, cartridge refiller, or recycling centre. Make a note of the plug colour and power outputs, and get one the same.

If powers up briefly then shuts down = naffed mainboard. Get a new machine.

My HCL pc has a power problem it can't turn on

usually, either a faulty power supply or motherboard can cause this though it would also be a good idea to test other components. try the easy steps first. try another working power cord and power outlet. at times, a faulty power cord will or failing outlet are the culprit. should that not work, move inside. unplug the computer and try to disconnect all components connected from the outside of the computer, then open the casing and remove the all memory modules, add-in cards, storage devices and all connections to the motherboard. if the power supply has a LED indicator or a test button, plug it to a working outlet, then use the test button or check if the LED on it will glow to at least help indicate if it has power. If no indicators, unplug it again, press the power button on the computer to drain any power remaining. Once done, check the motherboard for visual signs of issues like leaking or bulging or burn capacitors. if none, use the reset jumpers in the motherboard, remove the cmos battery, then reconnect the 4 and/or 12 pin power to the mainboard, plug the power supply and try to power it on. if it powers like fan spins, try to power it off and unplug it after about 10 seconds. reconnect all devices inside one by one and keep testing the computer to see if any device will prevent it from turning on so you will know which component may need to be replaced. else, try swapping parts if possible starting with the power supply, memory and last would be the motherboard.

hope this helps.

I have a 26' Toshiba LCD TV Model: 26WL65G. When I plug in and turn it on it seems to start normally, but when screen turns on blue screen appears as normal and it goes back to stand-by mode...

Note that if it is a backlight inverter board problem you will still have sound. SInce you have no sound I would suspect a power supply or main A/B board malfunction. Do you know how to use a multimeter?

I have a Dell 380 desktop.it is giving me amber light and it does not start.

Open her up & try re-seating the memory. If not then disconnect the power cables to the CD, Hard drive, Floppy drive etc. If you get a post screen then reconnect each device in turn. If that doesn't work then you probably have a faulty Mainboard, CPU or memory module

Dell dimension 3000 showing the following LEDS on the back a-green, b-yellow, c-yellow, d-yellow, won't boot up.

if the Dell logo does not appear at all when you start the computer, unplug its power cord, press its power button for say 10 seconds to clear any power left to it. Next, try to disconnect all external devices connected to it, then remove the power and ide/sata cables to your hard drive and/or CD/DVD drives, remove all the memory and just reconnect 1 confimed working memory to the first memor slot. Remove any other cards like video card, or network cards, then remove and reconnect the power connection from the power supply to the motherboard. Reconnect the power cable and attempt to turn it on. If the back panel light code changes, try to re-connect the devices starting from the memory, then expansion cards and the storage devices one by one. After connecting each card or device, test the system to see which device may be at fault. If nothing changes, could be your power supply or mainboard and you may need to get the replacement for them. HOpe this lead you to the right direction in getting this solved. feel free to rate how helpful this information is. Thanks

On off clicking ,long time starting up

It is a mainboard issue, you can do it yourself if you are handy.

the mainboard is the board with the video and audio inputs or with the antenna coax connector.

Tv will not turn on on the first try

The mainboard is going bad. If you were to disconnect the cable from power board that leads to the mainboard you'll get the same result, power cycling. Replace it before it causes damage to the LCD controller board.
