It does help if the Brand was posted. Would have found it if it wasn't for Google search.

Briggs and Stratton 020397-0 (Snapper 020397)

You don't normally change the oil in the pressure pump except when serving the pump. As for the engine it is same as any other Briggs horizontal engine. Some of the newer engine are now requiring oil to be pumped out to change it.

My toyota avanza was mixing oil and water then we changed the gasket and the oil pump, now we hv put in the oil then now it doesnt take the oil to the cylinder head what could be wrong

I am not familiar with working on this particular make/model but others I have done I usually prime the oil pump before installation. Other than that, if the oil pump is in the sump, make sure the gasket between the pump body and the engine is good otherwise the pump will be sucking air. Cheers

Jeff, you or somebody else will have to hook up a external oil pressure Gage and verify oil pressure OK, before you have a catastrophic engine failure.

Worn main and rod bearings on the crank shaft. This is what creates the oil pressure. When the get worn they start loosing pressure. Also when the oil gets hot, it gets thinner, causing more lose of pressure.

Broken oil pump need to change

Why, why, why do people expect a decent answer if they do not give complete information, in this case MODEL YEAR?

In 1999, there was a change over from the Evolution engine to the Twin Cam engine.
This resulted in a total change of the oil pump.
Up through the Evo, the oil pump was mounted to the outside back end of the motor case, and could be remove - reinstalled/replaced fairly easy.
Starting with the Twin Cam, the oil pump was completely redesigned and move to inside the engine, so you have to go inside to change,

Either way, beings as the oil pump could be considered the "Heart" of the Harley's circulation system, you should know what you're doing if you plan on tackling this yourself.

Oil pump removal oil pressure

I need to know what year model Sportster you're working on. I know the book says you can change the oil pump without removal of the engine from the frame but it ain't that easy. Let me know exactly what year model you're working on. You may NOT have to pull the pump.

Are you certain you have no oil pressure? Pull the spark plugs and remove the oil filter. Spin the engine with the starter and see if oil pumps out of the oil pump adaptor. If it does, you have oil pressure and the oil pressure switch is lying to you. If your bike is equipped with an Evolution engine, 1986 or later, it will have hydraulic tappets. If you indeed do not have any oil pressure, the tappest will rattle badly.

Good Luck
