Usually, when you reach the duty cycle, you will get wire feed without any arc. You really don't define "shut off". Does that mean you turn the welder on an the fan runs, but whem you pull the trigger nothing happens? Or does that mean when you turn the machine on it does absolutely nothing, like it isn't even plugged into the wall? The more you tell us the easier it is to help....

If you use the welder for too long at high amps it will go into over heat mode and shut down
you may have to reset the overload control ( how to do is in the user manual)
mig welders need a cooling of period during use and it is stated in the duty cycle specifics for the machine
contact the service shop for exact details

I can turn the welder on and it can run all day but when I start welding with in a minute the overheat light will come on and it will stop feading wire. I'm trying to weld on mid temperature.

Have you checked so see if your power cable is the right size?? Is it a 220 or 110? If it is 110 then it will cut off after it gets hot, if it is 220 and the power cord is too small then the machine will be trying to pull more amps than the cord can handle causing it to overheat and shut off.. My husband has been a welder for 20 years.. I'm just passing along what he suggested might be the problem.. Hope this helps!

New welder, only fed wire a couple times now it wont work

the noise you hear is the relay for the wire feed,it means that your tension on the wire needs to be set, tighten it if it is too loose and loosen it if the roller on the feed is moving but the wire is not, also, make sure the wire moves easily in the handle, always keep your cords straight so they dont bind.

Our MillerMatic 175 wire feed cannot be adjusted down enough. The rheostat seems to function, but even the lowest setting is now way too fast.

Your Millermatic 175 has syncronize wire speed-voltage feature in order to reduce the wire speed first reduce your heat (voltage). Try again.

If this was useful to you please vote. thanks.

Millermatic 200 will not weld

1 - Check the ground connection to the work, including the actual cable to clamp connection.

2 - Make sure that the wire feed rollers are nice and clean. The wire needs to be clean too.

3 - Check that the polarity changing wire connections are nice and tight, clean, etc.

4 - change and or service the contact tip at the end of the gun.

as always, gently clean out the loose junk inside the case. A clean welder is a happy welder. :-)
