Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and they can advise you. They have a website at www.singerco.com and you can download your manual manual for free, kind of nice to have a back up on your computer, plus have the luxury of enlarging the diagrams.Another tip, go to www.sewingpartsonline.com and you can see what your part should cost approximately, plus identify what your part is called. Yes, it can. What do you have your differential set at? Try it in the middle and see if it makes a difference.1 is usually for overedging, 2 is usually for easing in a sleeve, etc. I have my tensions set at 4,4,4,4, stitch length at 3 to 4. Do not be afraid to try gradually changing the tensions, but do them one at a time, that is what I did and finally got it.
