Question about Blodgett DFG-100 Gas Single Oven
Hi, I'm dealing with an older Blodgett stack oven Model DFG-100-3, S/N 0785R4705101 with hot surface ignition. Every morning at start up we get a strong gas odor. Once unit fires and heats up to temp, no noticeable smell is detected for the rest of the day. I am just guessing here but can the ignition module be turning the gas on prematurely at startup? Should I be looking to replace the module or is there something else I should be looking for? Thanks.
The ignitor and the module work hand in hand to make sure the gas valve doesn't open until the unit is ready. If you are smelling gas on startup, but not before startup, the module is a good suspect. I could definitely replace the ignitor with it as a set.
