Do you have a multimeter? If yes then check for continuity with the meter. If not then remove the wires from the switch and short them together (get a piece of wire and insert each end into the spade connectors on each wire.

Good luck!

A couple of possibilities, either the main fuse has blown, they are normally an auto motive design and located undrt the the hood of the machine, or the start solinoid has burnt out.

Try starting my 19.5 hp craftsmanriding mower and no click and cross over the solnoid and it turns over but no start

If it is equipped with a seat safety switch it won't start unless someone is on the seat or the switch is bypassed (which you shouldn't do for safety concerns). You could also have a bad ignition switch which is not uncommon.

"Electric Start" means that it is started by an electric motor (the starter) which is powered by a BATTERY (the electric) much the same as a car. One does not PLUG it in. If it does not turn over when you turn the key, repost your question and include the Sears model number >>917.xxxxxx<< the x's being numbers 0 thru 9 off the tag on the back end of the mower near or under the seat and I will see if I can steer you to an operators manual for it
