99 dodge dakota 3.9 starts in the morning after about 15-20 min its dies at light. when i go to start it back up the gauges dont work and she wont start. after a couple min i just turn the truck on with...

I would have an auto parts place put their instruments on the alternator to see if it works. If a Dodge isn\'t charging properly from the alternator, one symptom will be the guages will act like they are crazy and the speedometer will flip back and forth like its crazy. If your car isnt charging the battery, your car will recover some charge overnite to start in the morning, but a faulty alternator can suck the battery down while you drive, and kill it prematurely. Auto Zone or Oreilly\'s or NAPA stores will usually let an employee go out (during daylight) and run the codes on your car computer or wheel their battery/starter/alternator cart out to put the tests on your car, for free.

1993 Toyota key wont turn to start car

Wiggle the steering wheel back and forth. Sometimes the wheel lock jams the ignition switch and turning the wheel just that little bit can free it.

Wheels will not move-car has sat all winter.

hi, if the car has been sitting all this time with the parking brake on then the chances are your brakes are siezed on, now the parking brake locks the back wheels so this is where you should start looking for problems.

now the front wheels should be ok you can try them by jacking each wheel up and try spinning them by hand the front will be stiff but should turn with a bit of force.

how ever you could also jack the back wheels up to check they are solid if they are then you have two options the first would be to give the back wheels a few hits with a big hammer, you will need to hit them pretty hard and doing this should free the brakes enough for you to get the car moving. do this to both sides and you should find you can then use the car.

if after doing this they are still **** then your going to need to take the back wheels off and get a big hammer and keep hitting the back drum till the brakes free up, you wont be able to get to the brakes until they have freed up a bit as the brakes will be holding the drum onto the hub so you need to get them freed up first.

if you try forcing the car to much you can damage the drum at the back beyond repair so be warned.

hitting the middle of the back wheels with a sledge hammer will usually free the wheels up allowing you to move the car once it has started to move the brakes should free up over use.

your brakes wont be much good to start of with as they will be badly corroded so bare this in mind when driving.

you may need to hit the center of the wheels a few times then try moving forwards and backwards then you may need to hit the center of the wheel again, it may take a while but it will free up if you keep going.

My park avenue has been sitting for 3years. I dropped the tank and cleaned it and it started right up. when I put into gear it wont go.

Hi the chances are the brakes are seized solid if this is the case then hitting the center of the back wheels with big hammer can free the parking brake, if the parking brake has been on all this time then this is going to be your problem, if the hammer dont work then your going to need to keep working the car backwards and forwards until the seized brakes free up, give it a hit with a hammer and then try moving back and forwards keep doing this until the brakes are free.

one way of testing the brakes is to jack the wheels up one at a time and see if you can turn the wheels by hand hopefully the front wheels should turn but the chances are the back are stuck solid

Wont free roll. troy bilt super bronco moves fwd and back in gear while running, but I cant get it to free roll.

On some tillers you have to pull the pin that holds the wheel on, move the wheel in and reinstall the pin to get them to freewheel. You may have to use some penetrating oil like i.e. PB blaster or DeepCreep to get the wheel to move on the shaft. Be patience there may be plenty of rust to break the hold. But when you get them free, clean up the shaft and wheels and put some grease on them. This will make it move more freely next time.

Polaris 380 wont run when vertical

The drive belts are loose. Replace the drive belts are at least take the cover off inspect and tighten. The adjustments are the axle blocks. Tighten to where there is about an 1/8" tension while lightly pushing on the belt.

My troy bilt won't go in neutral

The Junior tiller does not have a neutral selection. In order to free wheel the tiller you have to remove the pins that go thru the wheel rim hubs and then it will roll without starting it. Hopefully the rims are not rusted to the wheel shaft.
