Testimonial: "I followed the advice I read. Turned off the icemaker. Dried everything out and let it sit for 4-5 days. That worked and if it does it again, I will repeat. Thanks"

With these units using adaptive defrosting technology..... they are becoming extremely hard to troubleshoot as well as costly to repair. The govt. is mandating more energy efficient products. So you save money on energy and spend it on repairs.

It sounds like your unit is building up frost. You partially confirmed it when you said you un-plugged it and there was water all over the floor.

In the following parts pictorial....part # 407A is the ice fan motor. It appears to be located in the bottom of the unit. I would check for voltage and fan operation at that point.

Condensor fan running all day

when you say you removed the cardboard, did you remove the back panel that covers the compressor, fan, and coils from the back? If so that is what is causing it to run too much, this will also effect the cooling.

HELP!!__CALLING ANY GE FACTORY TECHS

You say " all thermistors check fine " , how did you check them ? Did you check for the 5-8 DC volts at the main control board , for the thermistors ? Did you do the diagnostic check for the thermistors from the control panel ? I'm sure you know there are 5 thermistors , since the refrig has the dual evap . Possibly the # 5 is bad , since it is the freezer temp " controller " , yet if it tells the board it's not cold enough , it still sends refrigerant to the refrig evap . Since the refrig evap has 2 fan motors , can't remember if there is a damper there also . Maybe when the # 3 thermistor is satisfied , it only cuts the fans off , even though refrigerant is still going thru the refrig evap .
