SOURCE: Nailer jams with 1-5/8 brads

It sound to me that the 1 5/8 brads are not 18 guage but probably 16 guage and they will not work. Double check them first before going any further. You can usually lay them next to the smaller ones that work and see the size difference, if not let me know and I will dig deeper.

SOURCE: My brad nailer will not shoot any nails. When I

it sounds like the piston/driver might be stuck or the firing valve is malfunctioning. there are 4 screws to remove the top cap and you can see if the driver is damaged. Also before removing check to make sure there is not a nail jammed in the nose assembly. This tool is good for breaking the pin on the piston.

SOURCE: brand new brad nailer shoots 2 nails and then it

first make sure that you are using the right guage nails and if so I would return it to the place of purchase for replacement., the blowing of air could indicate a jammed nail in the track, look for that first and make sure the driver is retracting fully.

SOURCE: my black and decker 18v brad nailer will not shoot brad

I had a 12v b&d brad nailer that stopped working. It would just blink & blink (red light on tool). I took it to b&d service center, and I was sent a new 18v nailer. Now I've had this nailer less than a year, I
believe this is the 2nd or 3rd time I use it. It's doing the same thing
as the 12v. I just use it around the house. The batteries are good.
I 've also had the charger go bad and the batteries. which have also
gone bad.

How do I fix my craftsman electric brad nailer

I have one that looks just like the illustration and mine doesn't operate either. I have had it apart and the switch is faulty and seems to be a very poor design.
Mine has a different brand name (Rapesco) and under the label is a generic Chinese export which the local supplier reckons is a throw-away item and no spares are available.

One of these days I will exercise some guile and attempt a repair.

Our Brad nailer model SB-1842BN is well oiled but it will shoot the brads just a little into wood or not at all. Help!!

Can u adjust the drive depth on the tip of the gun? My nailers all have a knob to adjust the drive depth. Also, what pressure are you using? I typically shoot mine between 90 and 120 psi. Hope this helps.

Does the brad nailer only use 2" brads or cam smaller nails be used also

Most nail guns are labeled with the longest nail/brad they can shoot but are capable of shooting shorter nails/brads. There should be a data sticker on the gun, usually on the magazine rail, or at least in the manual that tells you what pressure to operate the gun at, what guage brads the gun can shoot and the size of brads from shortest to longest it can handle.

Bostitch 1850BN will not cycle. Had a piece of a brad get hung up and the piston was stuck forward. I took it all apart to remove the hung up piece of brad and free the piston. I'm afraid I didn't pay...

Check the link below for directions to a website that has complete diagrams. I suspect that a seal may be damaged and the air is not flowing correctly. I would first examine all of the orings. Also, using the diagrams as a guide, check for proper movement by hand while the gun is partially dis-assembled. Update this if you have further questions.

Will not operate. the nailer is frozen up and soes not operate when the trigger is pulled. I have disassembled it and the head valve piston is stuck up in the head. how do I get it out?

Take a look at the head where the gasket sets and look for small hole. Apply air pressure to hole and valve should pop out. Be carefull because it may shoot out with force. Examine the plastic valve where the oring fits and check for cracked lip. There should be a spring behind the valve in the head and usually a second oring. Parts are available at Good luck and post again if you have other question.
