Most likely there is a part missing from the door latch mechanism that you need. This probably broke off when the handle failed. It would be a tab or wedge shaped piece of plastic that strikes the door switch and pushes the switch closed when the door is completely shut. You will need to find that piece and glue it back on or get a new handle assembly from Samsung.

This indicates a system error, the keypad has a short in the membrane, the keypad control board will need to be replaced.

If everything else seems to work, the magnetron is the likely problem which is the heart of the microwave oven, consideration should be given in replacing the microwave because of repair cost.

Purchased samsung SMH8165ST in Oct 2009. have had the SE code problem for a few month now. Resetting worked at first. Then the light started flasing on & off along with the beeping...would not reset. Out of frustration I called Samsung. I was told they are aware of the problem & would repair in the "epidemic warranty". Repair man just left. It took him about 15 minutes to change out the keypad. No charge!!

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Check out this door frame diagram, specifically number 1805. It clips on to the door frame. Remove it using a dull table knife or something similar (be careful not to scratch or break anything). You will then have access to the bottom screw.
