Will not spin hear it spinning but tub does not spin

If you are hearing the motor spin but the tub doesn't, then the motor coupling is bad. The coupling goes between the motor and transmission and enables the transmission to spin or agitate. You're going to have to open up the machine so you can access the motor. Then you will have to disconnect the motor and you will see the coupling.

My washing machine does not spin at the last cycle to wring out the clothes. hence, the clothes stay wet, and then stops and 3 beeps. I do not understand why i am having so much problems with this machine....

on some washing machines, there is a coupling that goes between motor and the transmission. if the coupling is bad tub will not spin, get access to motor and check it out. the coupling is made of hard rubber so as to not break anything if the motor or transmission jams up, only the coupling will go. its less than 20.00 at most appliance stores. if the coupling is ok, then remove switch from washer lid, tape the two switch wires together. if it spins fine now then the switch is bad and needs a new one.

Tub does not spin. water pump works but no spin

  1. does the machine agitate? if no replace drive coupling between motor and transmission. If yes you have either a bad clutch or transmission.
  2. Remove cabinet and jump out lid switch to run with cabinet off.Put the machine in spin, look where the shaft goes up thru center of tub.Is the clutch drum turning?IF yes replace clutch. If not replace transmission.
  3. My guess bad coupling ,cost $20.
  4. Hope this helps .........Please rate my solution :)

Clothes don't spin during spin cycle

Again I see very little or no information provided about this machine ( like make and model,,, age etc.)
So from my experience I will guess this is a direct drive machine.
It has a plastic and rubber coupling between the motor and transmission that will break if the machine is overloaded. This will cause the machine to make alot of noise and not operate correctly (like not spinning out).
Replacing the coupling is fairly inexpensive and not so hard to do, but if you do not feel confortable with doing the needed repairs, I suggest you refer to a more qualified individual.

Washing machine will not spin.

Hello, I am going to risk getting a bad rating here but I'm one of those that hates passing by a question because I am likely to get a bad rating. No spin and clacking noise is the coupling, Pull the motor off and take another look at the coupling..I'm willing to bet its bad again. If the coupling is bad again replace it and watch the machine over the next couple of months..If it breaks again your transmission is going bad and your going to have to buy a new washer. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

Even when I put no spin button the machine was spinning

There are a couple of reasons for the washing machine not to spin. Since the reason is not specific we need to to perform a couple of steps to determine the reason of the no spin.
Depending on the models the earlier models had brake shoes in the bottom of the machine. If you tip the machine over you can see them. If they are worn, they don't engage so may need replacing these were about 20 year old machines one of the problems with the newer models is that they have a cut out switch when you lift the lid if this is broken the machine wont engage in the spin cycle so it isn't an expensive part to replace that could be worth checking. A volt meter would quickly tell you if it was working or not it is just a basic switch the other problem that happens is that the pump is blocked i.e. some hair and may need cleaning. They stop if they are blocked. I think they have a sensor, but once unblocked they are fine. So that is a couple of ideas to start with.

Old model rca washer machine...will not agitate/wash the clothes, does spin.

If the washer fills up with water and you hear the motor running but the agitator doesn’t move, the agitator coupling is the most likely problem. First pump the water out by turning the timer to spin. Once the water is out, turn the washer off. Now pull up on the agitator until it comes off (it may be hard to pull off). Now that the agitator is off, you can see the agitator coupling, reach down and try to turn the coupling. If the coupling turns freely, it is striped out and needs to be replaced.

Washing machine does not spin Whirlpool LLR7144

the motor coupling is probably broken. Especially if it wont wash either. Its probably just filling with water and then making noise but not actually washing. If its doing this than replace the coupling.
