Do an either amp draw test or ohms check of the Pto clutch coil. I have seen where these partially short out and draw too much current for the alternator to keep up with. The Pto coil should be at least 1.7 ohms or higher. This will be a current draw of about 5 to 7 amps.

As Ray suggests The Pto clutch is drawing down the battery to the point that it is killing the engine. How is happening really depends which engine you have. Originally these mowers came with Onan engines.

SOURCE: start blades engine stops

This could be a faulty grassbox switch, or the box is not closing right. Or it might be the blade
safety switch. Check the wires going to the switches, they could be stripped and earthing.

SOURCE: mower starts and runs fine but immediately stops

My name is Dane and I am going to assist you in solving your problem.

You have a problem with the seat safety switch on your lawnmower. The seat safety switch makes sure that if you are ever thrown from your mower, the engine will die.

You should check under the seat of your mower and locate a small square box with normally 2 wires connected to the end of it. While looking at the switch, press down on the back of your seat and make sure your seat is activating the switch. If not, you must get the switch correctly positioned so it makes contact and pushes the button in. If you found nothing wrong there, go to the next step.

Make sure the 2 wires are connected and the wiring is in good shape. Disconnect the wires from the switch and make sure there isn't any corrosion on the terminals of the switch or the connector. After you have done this, reconnect the switch and try again to see if all works well.

If not, Disconnect the switch again place a jumper wire between the 2 prongs of the connector and tape them so they will not ground out on the frame. Start your mower and see if all works well now. If so, you have got a bad seat safety switch and it needs to be replaced. This was only a troubleshooting procedure. You should never operate a mower with this switch disconnected, because you could be seriously injured. Go buy a new switch and get it replaced. You will need the make model and serial number of the mower in order to get parts.
I hope I've helped. If you found this reply useful, please leave me some THUMBS UP, if you feel I

How do I know if my JD318 is overheating or not? It runs for awhile and then shuts off and disengages the mower blades

as most small engines do not have a temperature gauge, try touching the air cowl over the motor
It should be cool
best do a service and remove that air cowl and clean all the dry dust and grass from around the cooling fins of the head and cylinder
if the drive is electric clutch then the engine stops , there is no power so the clutch disengages.

Lookfor a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. If you see this light, that is a sign of a failed or failing antitheft system, which will disable your vehicle. This link explains

My Daelim Roadster stops running for no apparent reason. (even while in motion). When I try an immediate restart, it will turn over but not start. It will start again after a couple hours of sitting.

Sounds to me like your soiling your plug. since after sitting it starts the plug has time to dry and thus it will start a wet plug wont start and if it floods while running it will stop. If the gas is a mixture the gas may be too rich if it is mixed empty your tank by the petcock valve and try some new gas try and folow instructions on the oil the best you can <only for two stroke bikes> If its a four stroke or two stroke check the plugs gap if its closed or open re gap it with a gaping tool to your owner manuals specs. Iwould also try and replace the plug since a fouled plug tends to soil more quickly hope this helps remember "Sell your product not your knowledge".

Once engaged and start mowing, you can mow for about 20 feet or more and then it just slows down and the engine wants to die, but stop pulling immediately and the engine catches up and goes back to full...

This actually happened to a friend of mine! I saw it! Mow about 20 feet, and had to stop, then 20 feet...well, you get the picture. It was his air filter! Stopped up pretty good. We blew it out and it worked fine.
I really hope this helps. --W/D--

Remove the back of the phone. Pop out the battery. let it sit for about 10 minutes. Replace the Battery & the back cover of the phone. If the phone starts up, then let it start and immediately plug in the charger and let it charge for 1/2 hour before you touch it again.
If the phone does not start up then do not try to start it just immediately plug in the charger and let it charge for 1/2 hour before you touch it again.

97 M3 chokes on clold start.

The E36 M3 is natorious for having some minor enigine hesitation immediately after a cold start. My car does this for about the first block both in the morning and after work. Its part of the engine management start routine: you will see this more specifically if you just start you car when its cold and let it idle. Initially you'll notice that the idle tone is a bit more rumbly and rough; but after about minute or so you'll notice that pitch changes and smoothes out. I was alarmed about this too, but after some research, I found it was a characteristic of the design. Just take it easy for the first block and you will never notice. Don't ever cold rev your engine. - Hope that helps.
