Yes but put it on a low heat. it will take a long time but if the heat is high it wont cook through and just burn the foil

A slow cooker will not cook a frozen chicken safely. Defrost first to avoid salmonella.

I put my slow cooker on High. After it starts boiling, do I leave it on High or put it on Auto? I am leaving it overnight.

Depends what you are cooking really. If am cooking a whole chicken I use low for 8 hours. Something smaller would be high for only 4 hours. If you are leaving it overnight I would use low setting not high.

Salmonella on raw chicken, do not wash?

also use separate chopping boards
Cut up chicken does not go with Salad / un cooked foods on same chopping board and hands with cut up chicken does not go with with Salad / un cooked foods

I left raw chicken out for 5 hours is it still safe to cook i put it in bag then froze it can i still cook it

Hard to say for sure. How cold was the raw chicken when you first put out? How warm was the room it was left in? But there are two REAL questions you need to ask yourself....

  1. If I have to ask if the chicken is safe....what does that tell me?
  2. Which is more important...some chicken or my health (and that of others who may partake?
You may cook it up and no harm done. But what if it did start to go bad and you don't quite cook it thoroughly enough? And even though you froze it, salmonella or e-coli can survive in the freezer...they just go dormant until warmed back up.

Only you can decide what to do...but I'll pass on an invite to supper!

Have lost instruction book, how do I use it?

What sort is it? I have a Sunbeam - I just throw in all the ingredients for say, a casserole, in the morning before work. Leave it on low heat setting, ensuring that I have a tin of tomatoes or a mug of beef or chicken stock to keep everything moist, put the lid on and about 7 hours later hey presto! The meal is ready. No real preparation , I just use a normal meal recipe, and ensure i have enough moisture for the cooking as I would in the oven.

I had the exact same thing happen!

First some common sense, there is no such thing as partially defrosted - it's either frozen or it isn't as far as cooking safety. A slow cooker, even on high, only takes food to simmering temperature and holds it there, and it does it very slowly. Put something frozen inside and cover with glass, the glass gets very cold and then turn it on high and go away for several hours....unless the glass is Corning Ware and rated for freezer to oven, expect it to break one out of ten times. Also, putting frozen food in a slow cooker and thawing while slow cooking gives you a good chance at growing some unhealthy bacteria in the cooker as the meat warms. Meat should always be thawed fully before placing in one of these units, as the directions specify.
