Fabric stores (JoAnn's, Hancock Fabrics) sell generic plastic sewing machine cases. They can also be purchased online or on eBay.

My dog knocked a wood burner into the front cover of a fashion mate 69 stitch computerized machine is there a way to replace the front cover?

Probably. However, the first issue is finding a replacement cover--may have to find a used donor part for that. Second issue is actually getting the old cover off and the new cover on without cracking or breaking anything, ie the plastic clips that hold the cover in place.

I NOTICE THE BELT IS HARD TO TURN-HOW TO CHANGE THE BELT?

Your machine is computerized and, as such, are closed systems (difficult-impossible to take the covers off per manufacturer's design). May be worthwhile to take it for service.

How do i change the light bulb on singer model 7426 ?

You have to unscrew the cover of your sewing machine on the left top and once it is unscrewed you take the cover off and insert a new bulb and then replace the cover.

Sewing machine is sewing slow

This could be for several reasons. I would try the easiest "fixes" first, such as: remove the needle plate and bobbin cover plate, and clean all lint from these areas, including between the feed dog teeth. Lint can quickly accumulate and bog the feed dogs from advancing correctly; oil all moving parts of your machine after removing the top covers, side covers, and the needle plate & bobbin cover plate as mentioned previously--oil anywhere in which metal moves against metal, but make sure you remove all lint or dried oil gunk first; check the belt of your machine to see if it is too tight if it was recently replaced--if it hasn't been replaced or adjusted in a long time, it would more than likely be too loose rather than too tight, but if too tight, it will bog the motor down by making the motor pulley too hard to turn; slowly turn the machine's hand wheel by hand without power with all of the covers off as previously stated and watch everywhere the machine moves--see if anything looks bent, is hitting something it shouldn't or making clanking or clacking noises somewhere as a part may be bent and rubbing somewhere, slowing-down the machine (and of course, if you know the machine has been dropped or damaged, something bent is highly likely which may require a repair tech); check your foot controller--is there something physically blocking the pedal from depressing completely?--these controllers also sometimes just need replaced, so as a test, you may borrow one to test on your machine and see if that helps; if your machine has a fast and slow sewing speed, make sure that setting is not governing the machine from sewing fast; check all of your power cords, plugs, and controller connections to make sure everything is plugged in securely, and maybe try your power plug in another outlet; and lastly, it could be your motor--the motor may need new brushes, some motors require a drop of oil now and then for the bearings (your manual should tell you this if so), or the commutator may have a common build-up of carbon residue that can be removed, and you may have just worn-out your motor that can be replaced. And as always, make sure you are using a new needle after encountering and hopefully fixing an issue.

How do I take of the back cover on my singer 2250 tradition? Not the cover for changing the bulb, but the one that covers the rear of the machine. The machine became very noisy and after I cleaned it and...

These plastic machines are like computer cases. Get a thin bladed tool and wedge it between the sections... look for those "tab locks" and release them.

Good luck.

I have a 990 Prisma Viking sewing machine (like new) that was just plugged in for the first time in many years. The light went on and then out and I heard a pop sound. Now it doesn't seem to be getting...

FIRST to try is any fuse fitted - they often make a pop sound when they blow!

Look in the plug (depends on country) and then check the machine for a fused cover - usually circular.

Ifs it hasn't been used for a while bits can stick and then the mottor tries hard to move it and pop - the fuse blows.

Give it a try

GOOD LUCK

The stitch selector on my Viking 630 is stuck after sewing buttonholes. Even with the needle up it won't move. Before this it worked great. I can't even figure out how to open the cover to see what's...

The rear cover has a screw at the top rear of the machine. Remove it, then press outward and lift upward on the rear cover and it will come off.
The finger that is sitcking is silver and has a somewhat heavy spring connected to it. Turn the dial on the front of the machine and look at the cam that rotates, you'll see grooves in it and the finger that should ride those grooves. Your silver finger (called a cam follower) will be very hard to move. Be very gentle with it, use a penatrating oil and move it back and forth and even a little bit up and down. Go easy, if you break that follower, a new machine will be in your future! Don't turn any screws, freeing that finger should do the trick. Also in the middle of the top of the machine you'll see a square "block" with springs connected to it. That is the feed block and sometimes also sticks. After freeing the finger, check to see if the reverse button works. If it doesn't that block may be frozen as well. You can put oil (liquid wrench, or teflon oil etc.) on each side and work it back and forth and slightly side to side to get the oil to penetrate the mechanism and free it.
