SOURCE: scanner error
While scanning it gives the msg "cannot communicate with scanner.Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off.Checked Status.Scanner driver will be closed.

SOURCE: machine error. no error code.
Go into maint. mode.
With-in 2 seconds hit Menu,*,2,8,6,4
Then hit 82 when in maint mode.
This will give you a machine error code.
Let me know what that number is and I will help you with a solution.

SOURCE: I just put in a yellow cartridge. Previously the printer was working just fine. Now it is showing an error code: 10.92.00 So I put the old yellow cartridge back in. The same error code now appears? He
This is your problem.
Open and close
The cartridges are not engaged,
poor primary transfer bias contacts,
defective high-voltage supply, or
control signal errors.
00 - Black print cartridge
01 - Cyan print cartridge
02 - Magenta print cartridge
03 - Yellow print cartridge
1. Open and close the front door to fully
engage the cartridges.
2. Reseat the print cartridges.
3. Check the printer primary transfer bias
contacts to the transfer unit. Clean if
dirty. If the contracts cannot be
cleaned or they are damaged, replace
the transfer unit.
4. Replace the high-voltage power supply
5. Replace the DC controller PCB.

6202 error code means that the scanner motor failed
to solve this
-Open the printer access door of your printer
-Unplug power cable
-then after 30secs plug the power able back
-If the printer is already power-up the message printer access door will appear
-Close th printer access door
-try to scan or print

I had this problem and it had to do with the scan bulb head not recognising the marker. My temporary fix until the bulb is replaced is to turn the printer off, open the top (ADF and all) with the gray button on the right so that it's slightly raised and then switch the printer on. When it comes up, just close and print/scan/copy as usual. Apparently the spring in the arm warped the interior surface where the head moves and it can't line up when it's closed. Hope this helps.
