Siemens Gigaset 2420 corded unit resets when calls received

Corded unit appears fine until incoming call comes in and unit resets. You cant answer phone calls because unit resets. Other phones on the same line can pick it up, then Siemens can pick up line. LCD display goes blank when unit resets. Could be a overload from ring voltage coming in from line while ringing. Anyone out there have any experiences like this?

I have the same phone with the exact same problem it is driving me crazy. I have tried everything and think it may be the power supply. I have 3 of these phones and they all do the exact same thing when plugged in.

OK, here's what happened. I had the same issue of the phone resetting when a call came in, I thought it was a power issue and through some testing it was not. Here's the fix...Menu \ system settings \ enter pin (if you haven't changed it it is 0000) scroll to factory default and reset. This fixed the problem somehow for me, make sure to write down any impotant messages because it will erase everyting (silly me). I hope this helps.

Your caller id log is full, you can fix your phone by pressing the Calls button, then the delete button over and over until it is empty. This will fix your problem without deleting all your programming.

System pin # reset

There is a way to override and reset... I think you need to press *67# when in the system pin area via menu. Confirm this first though. There is a way to do this though- then you reset it to 0000- google it and you will find the answer-

Gigaset 2420 Siemens

You may have the wrong or defective power supply. Or, that problem is common from getting a power surge and the unit will probably have to be sent in for repair, sorry.

Siemens 825 Gigaset

I have the same problem with mine - a Siemens 2420 base. The calls come in, all the lights flash, then the thing clicks and resets. At this point, it can only be used for outgoing calls. i think i'm going to retire it. Too bad, cause the speakerphone was one of the best ever.

Reset base

Delete all the entries in the call log. This will fix the problem, though it may recur. The phone sometimes has a problem when the log is full, and then receives caller id info in a specific format.
