When the toilet is flushed water comes out from under the toilet bowl

The wax ring has gone bad. If the toilet moves when you set on it you might try snugging down the bowl bolts on both sides but be very careful not to go to tight you will brake the bowl.
If you decide to try to fix this your self with you buy a new wax ring buy the one with the horn in it they seal better.

Toilet bowl doesn't hold water but tank is full

The bowl is filled up with the little hose inside the tank, it locks inside of the overflow drain. And runs water in there as it flushes to swirl the water and fill the bowl. Water seeks it's own level, and the level in the bowl is at the top of the trap. It has to hold water, unless it isn't filling or it is leaking. Check out the filler and hope the bowl doesn't have a crack in it. Hope this helps.

We have a v illeroy and bch cistern that cracked

yes i can,,,he done the scews up to tight that hold then down and the move ment in them is cracking the screw holes out, undo the screws a little that hold them down and maybe put in some rubber washers as well,,,you only sit on them, its not a jig your doing
so they realy dont need to be done down tight only just to hold them thats all,

How does it come apart for cleaning

The hot water did work for mine. Here is the solution I discovered:

After removing the food plunger and juicer cover: (1) Unscrew the 3 screws that hold the cutting blade plate in the center of the basket and lift off the cutting blade plate; (2) Unscrew the base counterclockwise (it will unscrew from the threaded center piece) and lift it up; (3) Lift off the basket and juice bowl. Now you can clean the basket and juice bowl.

To reassemble, reverse the process.

In the tank, when I flush, water comes shooting out of the black plastic thing, about 2 feet high! How can I make this stop so it flushes properly again? (its an eljer 2001)

is the black thing between the the tank and the bowl?
if so, go to any of the home center or plumping store for the seal.
shunt off the water and unbolt the 3 bolts that holds the tank to the bowl from the buttom. you may need a flat screw driver to help hold the bolts. pull up the tank slowly, and lay it on the side, replace the seal, reseat the tank on to the bowl and tighten the bolts. make sure all bolts are equal pressure and the tank is level.
