Just fitted a new belt to my dryer now it wont turn have checked for any loose wires

Are you sure you have the belt on correctly? When you start it does the motor run or try to run? Does it hum or buzz when trying to start? Take the belt off & start it see if the motor runs if it does check if drum, belt and idler pully are installed correctly.
Check the drum rollers and drum glides be sure the drum turns ok. Be sure everything is installed correctly & turns OK . Are you getting power? Hard to tell what is wrong without much information about what is going on. You might check the front panel & see if it is binding on the drum not letting it turn. Hope there's something here that will help you.

Dryer will not turn on

if u have recently replaced the belt, the drum may have come out of the track. i suggest taking it apart and making sure the drum is seated correctly. i had to do this several times to my mothers ge electric dryer.

Drum won't always turn and belt squeaks

Start with a new belt, probably worn out. While apart check rollers that drum rolls on, make sure they spin freely and are not loose, check to dryer felts that connect drum to dryer, could be going bad also, also vacuum out dryer of all dust and lint (this has nothing to do with problem, but helps prolong life of dryer, you will be surprised at what you find).

Broken or belt has come off. If can open back and fix or replace. You may need to remove the top. Careful of the heat element, lift out drum and place new belt on motor holding it while you put the drum back keep hold of belt and place around drum replace top and should be ok. Hope this Helps

I have a Maytag Model pyet224ayw electric dryer, The belt broke and I replaced it. Now when I put the new belt on, every time that I turn it on the belt jumps off the tention pully. Can the problem be that...

http://www.applianceaid.com/maytag-dryers.html
this site has proper belt routing pictures for several brands maytag included might be helpful the only other thing i can think of the idler may be worn out or bent or drum may be tight not turning properly should turn freely with belt loose from inside dryer
should be able to push vanes and rotate drum easily
good luck ron

Replace belt

A belt replacement problem solution has been posted above. However, to install a new belt the top and back of the machine will have to be removed so that the belt can be slipped off the back of the drum.

Before replacing the belt, I recommend checking the tensioner pulley that is located at the back of the dryer motor. The tensioner pulley is a plastic pulley with a spring attached. Your belt may have come off the tensioner pulley which would mean that it is too loose to drive the drum.

Hope this helps

Asko T700 loose belt, access from front?

I think you must replace the belt and the tensionarm. It MUST be done from the backside of the machine... Remove the backpanel, and the drum, change the tensionarm, and put the drum into the machine again. Put on the new belt, and mount it together again. Be careful for sharp edges! Hope this helps :-)
