Question about John Deere Garden

John Deere 650 buck is overheating. The fan is connected to the battery directly so it's always on. What can I do to keep it from overheating?

percussive maintenance my friend. Try banging on the solenoid and starter with a hammer while in the start position. Also, if you have a voltmeter, you can see where voltage is getting to and that will help you as well.

might have a short in your seloniod switch if you unhook pos from it and there is spark hooking up its probably the short

SOURCE: John Deere Lawn Tractor LX176. Battery discharge

Locate voltage regulator above battery to the left as you sit on machine,its behind frame that supports steering wheel.Once you have found it use a light to shine on harness and follow the brown wire that leads into regulator.The plastic around that wire should not be burnt or showing any other color.The LX series machines had a problem with brown wire coming loose and causing the charging light to stay on.Remove plug from reg and use small screwdriver to clean out wire and work it a little so it makes good contact.

Check the brown wire feeding your voltage regulator,its between batt and steering wheel behind left side of frame.LX100 series machines had a problem with brown wire not fully contacting terminal in regulator.You will know you had bad contact if plastic is discolored.

It is mounted underneath the engine a single wire is connected to it. The other way you can find it is trace wire from starter solenoid to starter.

bad battery if it wont over, if it will turn and over and not start then you have a bad gas issue with a gummed up carb if its the carburatored model...

john deere trail buck 2005 650 when accelerating before it gets to top starts cutting out pretty bad. In the high altitude it was doing that and not it does it here in MO. What causes this a weak fuel pump? Thank
