It's a ufc3220
Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the relative post easily.

SOURCE: Universal Jumbo Remote
one way is to buy another remote, just like the one you have, don't throw away ANYTHING, keep your receipt, look at the directions or maybe copy them, and then return the remote to where you bought it and get your money back (or credit, whatever) and tell them your significant other got a better one.

You haven't specified your remote model number or your brand of TV, so I can't tell you how to program your remote or which codes to use. However you can get all the remote codes from here:
Enter your remote model number in the "SKU" box on the left and select your device type, e.g TV and then press "Submit". You will then get a list of codes for all TV brands. Find your brand and make note of the codes.
To program your remote you can enter these codes manually or use the code search function. You can find details of how to do this on this page:
Sroll down the page on the left hand side you will see links for how to program your remote.
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please post back.
