Your best bet is to call Lowes and ask them.

We have a rheem heat compressor pump manufactured 08/2004. compressor is not coming on. Had a tech come tonight, he said compressor is bad and a new one is very hard to find so we should look into buying a...

Check your yellow pages find a contractor who will offer free second opion on compressor failors, better yet try to find one that is a rheem dealer. If the compressor does turn out to be bad he can turn in the model and serial # to find the installation date. In most cases warranty info does start day of contractor purchase unless owner fills out and mails in warranty card. But neverless warranty ticks away while house sits unsold. Compressor does not have to be a direct replacement most any brand of compressor ( of proper capacity) will work in there but may have to do a little retrofit. Should be no problem. As for price replacing a compressor is very expensive. About the most expensive thing to replace. It is definetly easier and quicker to just change out the unit. Get a few quotes keep in mind after replacing comressor some other part of unit could go bad costing more money.

Brand new equipment compressor work 5 minutes,

sounds like your slugin oil back to compressor and its over working itself especially cause you have low amprage, you need to pull a vacum on the systemm and bring it down to -25 psi and hold that vac.charge for a good 2 or 3 hrs and then recharge with new freon not the freon that was pull out of system, dont flip jug or try to put any liquid in even know the system will act like it wants liquid just add the gas slowly and it will eventually recoop it charge and amprage should rise to 8.9 to 9.2 depending on the outside temp.note: if this unit is under warranty by manufacture they should replace it due to the fact of a brand new unit that has never ran properly since installed call manufacture for complete waranty details heres the basic warranty this unit comes with and phone # - WARRANTY

Makita MAC 5200 3 HP 5.2 Gallon electric compressor

Use non detergent air compressor oil. It can be found at Lowes, Homedepot, and even Walmart. It is sold in small containers for about $2-3 dollars. A synthetic blend air compressor oil is needed when the unit is used in severe conditions. Synthetic air compressor oil sold at Lowes $6.95 and other stores will take more heat. Second choice is 30w non-detergent motor oil. Engine oils tend to produce carbon on the reed valves in the head if used extensively. I have been using the Lowes Kobalt brand of air compressor oil for some years in my Makita and Rol Air compressors with good results. The part number for Makita brand of oil is 18112-A quart size. It is only available by special order where I live. Good Luck!

WeatherKing Unit needs compressor and is under warranty

have you contacted the company who installed ? try there first, if no luck with the company, contact the manufacture directly, explain to them your problem and try to have them help you with getting the company who installed to do the right thing and replace the compressor under warranty, you may have to pay a warranty install charge, but it would be alot less than having to pay for a whole new compressor, or new unit, put your ducks in a row, get model and serial numbers, date of install, who installed it, and the manufactures warranty on the compressor, that way you will be ahead of the game, best of luck, hope that helped
