Re: removing back of the camera to replace LCD screen

I can not remember exactly how the camera is assembled, but make sure you have taken or looked under all the rubber pads on the camera. There are sometimes hidden screws under such pads, or under the USB/Memorycard Door/Power spot on the camera.

Never force the camera, you will only break the clips and latches and cause your camera to become a paperweight. When you get the camera open, also make sure to watch, there are two-three ribbon cables connecting the back panel, the LCD and the backlight to the main boards, and you don't want to break those.

Broken LCD screen

your answer to this problem is easy. First take the batteries out of the camera, then open the camera ( screws should be in the back) the screen should just pop out of the cover and there is a ribbon cable that connects the screen to the circut board. Gently un-hook that ribbon where it plugs in to the board there might be a slid lock to hold the ribbon in place, it should unlock when you pull the cable out (memorize what position the ribbon is before unplugging). Now the fun part, do the same thing to the other camera, (carefully). To install the new screen, plug the ribbon back into the slot and it should be snug, if not there is a lock on it, gently push it back away from the ribbon ( a little finger pressure). Now, simply put it back together the same exact way you took it apart and don't forget the batteries. Have fun taking pictures...

How to replace LCD Screen on a Nikon L18 Coolpix camera

Here is a Quick tutorial on replacing the LCD screen on a Nikon L18 Coolpix camera. You will need a few small tools and a replacement screen, of course, for this fix.
#0 Philips head screwdriver
1.4 mm Standard screwdriver
Plastic knife
1. Start by taking the batteries out of the camera and closing the battery compartment.
2. Remove 6 Philips screws, 3 from the bottom, 1 from each side, and 1 under the AV out flap.
3. Open the battery compartment and gently pry the AV out side of the camera apart. It should snap apart along the seam in the middle. Use your standard screwdriver to pry the back cover off by working it along the seam. If you are worried about scratching the finish you could use the plastic knife once you have it started.
4. Remove the back cover exposing the screen. The screen sits in a metal chassis that holds it in place. Lift the screen from the AV out side of the camera. Under the screen is a ribbon that connects it to the camera. Disconnect the ribbon and remove the old screen.
5. Install the new screen by connecting the ribbon and seating it in its chassis. You can test the camera by installing the batteries and pushing power to see if it functions.
6. Place back cover carefully back over the screen before pressing it in place.
7. Screw it back together and start taking pictures again.

Good Luck and thanks for using Fixya

I broke the display panel and i need a new one con you send me one an how much cost me? I can replace de oanel.

If you can, carefully take your camera apart and remove the old screen, Look at the numbers on the back of the screen and ebay them, If your unfamiliar with how to remove a camera screen you can try and ebay soomething like " LCD+nikon coolpix l11 " and see of your able to find a LCD screen replacement. Most screens are under $20. The biggest thing if your doing this is to be careful with the screen connection and the little tab holding the screen cable in. Take your time and you will have little to no problem.

Cracked LCD on Canon PowerShot A510. A few weeks back, I noticed that my LCD view screen was cracked on my camera. The camera still functions since I use the other view finder anyway. However, I obviously...

Your best option is buy a junk one off ebay and replace LCD. LCD replacement is very straight forward, just remove the screws, pry the case apart and the rest will be easy. Use the one you buy off ebay and practice getting it apart.

My daughter dropped my camera. Screen broken.

That screen is the lcd screen (liquid crystal display)
I had a fuji E900 that was dropped when the lens was extended , and it broke the lens mount ring inside the camera.
I took the camera apart to try and repaair it.
as part of the dissasembly I removed the lcd .
If you can find a parts camera.with a good lcd, it is worth the effort to simply replace your lcd.
if you need mor info email me , and I will try to describe the dissasenbly sequence for the fuji that I had, perhaps it will be the same for your camera.

How to replace LCD monitor/screen in an Olympus C5050 camera

Easy, remove the 9 screws that hold the rear case and pull the case apart,.remember there are 4 screws under the hotshoe base and 4 under the memory door and one under the USB cover. You need to pry and slide the hotshoe base back with a slim screwdriver and youll see 4 screws, remove the rear ones. There will be 2 ribbon cables attached to the rear case, the LCD and the buttons. These pull out carefully with gentle pressure. The LCD can be removed with screws and another ribbon cable connector that needs to be unclipped and then removed. replace LCD, Put it back together and make sure the ribbon cables are fully seated. Good to go.
