For this answer, we need a model and serial number.
Generally, be sure the power is on, does the heat moving device run? (Fan for air, or pumps for water)

Infrared ceiling hung heater. Upon turning thimastat up, why does it keep clicking and doesn't start?

It sounds as if you have a furnace with a spark ignition and it is not lighting. It should click for a period of time and then stop and the furnace probably goes in to "lock out mode" until the tstat is turned down and then back up or off/on. It may not light for several reasons but one being no gas supplied or air in the lines from being off and opened or possibly a bad gas valve. would need more info o on heater to determine.

What does lock out due to failed ignition mean?

It sounds like the system tried to ignite 3 times automatically then when the flame sensor saw no flame board went into lock out. Most time you have to shut the power off completely to the heater. Wait about a minute and turn power back on. You may of had air in the lines and could not get ignition or if you had gas there may be a problem with other components. I would try this again and see if you get ignition...

Relay keeps clicking and furnace will not start

try turning off the power to the furnace, wait about 10 to 15 minutes, then turn the power on, it might work, if not, the relay is bad

Burner shut off then there is a clicking sound, burner ignites again

this is normal the clicking sound you hear is the system starting another cycle for your furnace to ignite the burners, then turn on tbe fan blower.

Furnace will not run complete cycle ,several clicks and the and the furnace shutdown and restarts, will not bring the house to temperature

If it's a 90%+ gas furnace, check the combustion air pvc pipe for blockage, if not enough air for proper combustion, control board will shut down the flame to keep from burning poorly! Check your air filter, there's an overtemperature safety switch in the heat exchanger to protect the furnace/ your house, and low airflow will cause the heat exchanger to overheat. Finally, check to see if the flames actually ignite, if no flame, the controller will reset and try again, then if no flame, the controller will reset and try again, then if no flame, the controller will reset and try again, then if no flame, the controller will reset and try again.... get the idea? :) If this is the case, check my other solutions, I just answered someone elses question about non ignition. Hope this helps.

Goodman furnace gmh95090cxac wont stay lit keeps clicking will lite then clicks back off what would be the problem

Hello, if the burners light but do not stay on for more than 10 seconds, I would clean the flame sensor. The flame sensor is a metal rod that is on the opposite side of the Igniter, sometimes it gets coated by oxidation and does not sense the burner flame and shuts the Furnace down. To clean to kill power to tje furnace, remove flame sensor and clean with a steel wool, then reinstall and start Furnce back up. If this does not work then most likely the Igniter is too weak to ignite the gas and will have ro be replaced.

Gas Furnace Will not light

Hi, normally when you turn the gas off at the flex line valve and leave it off for awhile, the gas has to clear the gas valve and lines up to the pilot. Purge its self of air before it will light again. It will take the electronic ignition several clicks and more before there is enough gas to light the pilot and then open the main gas valve to fire the burners. Tell me, what kind of gas furnace is this when you speak of water? you say the site glass was full and you had to drain it and then the ignitor kept on clicking when it normally only took one click to light it. Please let me know the style as in a split system, a package unit, all in one, or what you have. I will wait to hear back from you. If the pilot does not light right away, then yes let it continue to click and see if it will light. On a heater with the electronic ignition control module on it or a circuit board, this is what tells the pilot coil to energize to light the pilot. It will send power to the pilot coil to open and let gas through to light and same for the main gas valve, will get a signal to open when the pilot is on. It will not open unless the pilot is lite for saftey. I will wait for you're responce.
