Either you will replace the belt or have to adjust the motor/belt tension.
1. The motor can be loosened by a couple of bolts. This allows the motor to be moved to adjust the tension of the belt.
2. The tension can be adjusted properly by turning the motor on with the foot pedal; low speed.
3. While the motor is running move the motor in a fashion that will loosen or tighten the belt. The correct location will allow the motor to run at it's highest speed.
4. Re-tighten the bolts and retest the machine.
Hi Sean:
To adjust the chain tension you need to move the rear wheel.
That involves slacking off the axle nuts, turning the nuts equally on the adjusters until you get the required tension, and then tightening the axle nuts. You should also check the prake pedal for correct amount of free play after doing a chain adjustment.
Follow the pedal or lever that you use to make the tractor move. That will lead you to the adjustment area . Then you will have to turn adjustment nut in order to put belt a little tighter to the tension pulley.
Don't forget to drop your deck to give you a better view, and room to work. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.
If the above answer didn't help; there are small silver set-screws on the top and bottom of each pedal. These require a 3mm allen wrench to adjust.
My recommendation is to loosen the bolt until it stops by turning it to the left. This resets them to their loosest setting. There are notches that you'll feel - it is helpful to count the notches so you know how far you have loosened the pedal and allow you to set all the mechanisms to roughly the same release tension. Then turn the wrench to the right more notches than you loosened it. Perform this twice on each pedal and you will have tightened the pedals.
1) you must tight the bolts the mechanism 2) if the magnet is loose will not work,do it 3)check the bolt, and adjust it. 4) Check the magnet againt with the magnet from refrigerator for; repel or atraction, otherwise is faulty.
LUBE the pedal, Retight the bolts with some wrench. 2) The tension adjust the magnet with the bolts, if there are loose retight the magnet. Test the magenet with the magnet refrigerator for to repell or attracted, change if necessary.
There's only one screw on the pedal. THAT is the tension adjustment. One way tightens the release tension, the other way loosens it. Also spray some lube on the cleats and the moving pedal surface that touches the cleats.
You cannot adjust the cables on a minivan manually. the tension is
automaitcally adjusted by the self adjuster on the pedal release.
The park brake cables on this vehicle have an automatic self adjuster
built into the park brake pedal mechanism. When the foot operated park
brake pedal is in its released (upward most) position, a clock spring
automatically adjusts the park brake cables. The park brake cables are
adjusted (tensioned) just enough to remove all the slack from the
cables. The automatic adjuster system will not over adjust the cables
causing rear brake drag.
Due to the automatic adjust feature of the park brake pedal, adjustment
of the parking brake cables on these vehicles relies on proper drum
brake.
When the park brake pedal is applied the self adjuster is by-passed and the pedal operates normally to engage the park brakes.
When a service procedure needs to be performed on the park brake pedal
or the park brake cables, the automatic self adjuster can be manually
locked out by the service technician.
Hope this helps. This is out of the factory manual. Let me know if this works for you.
PARKING BRAKE
NOTE: Tensioner adjustment is only necessary when the tensioner, or a cable has been replaced or disconnected for service. When adjustment is necessary, perform adjustment only as described in the following procedure. This is necessary to avoid faulty park brake operation.
Raise vehicle.
Fully back off cable tensioner adjusting nut at equalizer to create slack in cables.
Remove rear wheel/tire assemblies. Remove brake calipers and rotors.
Verify park brakes are in good condition and operating properly.
Verify park brake cables operate freely and are not binding, or seized.
Check park brake shoe adjustment.
Reinstall rotors and make sure rotors turn freely.
