Rear axle broke in half and was replaced under warrantee.

Why did this happen? Is this a common problem with the trike?

I am not familiar with this model of bike. I guess there are two possible reasons:
1. The axle was internally weak. It may be either due to its small diameter in the centre area or faults in the metal body.
2. The load was too heavy. Depend on the weight of the rider or any additional people or goods on the bike, the total load may exceed the load limit and the axle broke.

Was told drive shaft was worn out needs rebuilt or new any 1 here of this

Rebuilding them consists of new U joints and maybe balanced. If it was so loose the the u joints wallowed out the keepers, Then yes, they would also need replaced. Cut off and welded on. That isn't a common problem, but I have had to replace a few. Not just on jeeps.

Rear axle broke in half. Why? Is it a common problem?

If you like the bike and want to keep it why not visit a local metal work shop and talk to them they may weld an extra support on the rear to stop this happening.

Front passenger side broken axle

Need to replace the drive shaft. Aftermarket parts work fine. The biggest issue is removing inside connection to the half shaft. The clip ring tension is stronger than the boot holding the inboard joint on the drive shaft. To break it loose get a large screw driver and from under the car in front hit the inboard joint hard several times until it over comes the clip ring. Remember... always use jack stands when working under the car.

I have an old schwinn varsity. I went to change the rear tire, and turned out the rear axle bolt is stripped and I can't put wheel back on. Where can I find a replacement axle bolt?

you need a new axle kit, and a cog removal tool. They used to be a Huret dearailleur if I remember right. I know a varsity never had Shimano. I think you may be better off buying a new rear wheel (it is usually less money than having to rebuild the axle) and let the bike shop do the change over, it is well worth it. You wont have to deal with the brakes, check the cones etc. Why did you have the Meridian adult trike on, and you have an old 10 speed Varsity? Kind of confusing.

04 chevy colorado. The rear end is making this grinding/ clanking noise and noticed it is slipping too. Can this be my rear end

Yes, I just had the samething happen today. DONT drive it anymore. The gears in your rear is about to break. My right gear for the axle broke into pieces. Now i have to make a decision of replacing all the parts broke or replace the whole rear.

Rear axle broke and wheel came off. fixed it and same thing happened. rear floating axles have pin that broke!! 97 CREW CAB F250 Can this axle be replaced with another type.

You can get an after market part but my guess is the stablizer bar grommets are worn out and need to be replaced, this is what caused the second failure. If it has a strut be sure the strut bearing is not broke.

99 expedition trans feels like it engages but will not move.fluid level is ok

Check out these things: rear wheels locked up because of emergency brakes coming apart inside rear drum/rotor.

Rear axle broke

4x4 controls switched half on-half off.

Torque converter broke

All of these problems will not make much in the way of noise. You will need both rear wheels off ground and trans in neutral to turn the rear wheels. If they turn its likely the torque converter.

The housing where the rear axle bearing sits is bent up-ward slightly. This was caused by the axle breaking in half while being under to much stress. My question is will this cause problems when i replace...

Yes. It will keep the new axle under stress and probably break it again. Better to replace the housingat the same time. Check your local scrap yard for a used one.
