How do I hook up an external hard drive with videos on it to my receiver for video play back the usb input on front only will play back audio

Most receivers are designed to play most audio codecs. They will play MP3/CDA/FLAC/WMA and others. Most are not capable of reading and playing the various video codecs out there.

Appears to be installed properly but doesn't record

When you first connect the turntable, Windows XP (and Mac OSX) will often select the "USB Audio Codec" as the audio input and output for your entire system. Since your turntable does not have speakers, audio will not be heard from your programs until you tell Windows not to use the turntable as an output device. Here's how to change these settings so that your internal sound card will always be used for playback whether or not your ION TTUSB is connected via USB:
    For Windows:
  1. On the bottom left of your screen, select the "Start" menu.
  2. Select "Settings" then "Control Panel".
  3. In the window that opens, select the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon. (If you don't see a choice called "Sounds and Audio Devices," choose the "Switch to Classic View" option in the panel on the left of the window, and the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon should become available in the list on the left.
  4. Select the "Audio" Tab at the top of the "Sounds and Audio Devices" control panel window.
  5. Under "Sound Playback," choose your internal sound card as the default device. This varies by computer but should not be set to "USB Audio Codec" or "Microsoft Sound Mapper".
  6. Under "Sound Recording," select "USB Audio Codec" for your default device.
  7. Check the box titled "Use only default devices".
  8. Click "Apply"...then "OK".

    For Mac:
  1. Open your Hard Disk.
  2. Open your "Applications" folder.
  3. In the "Applications" folder, open the "Utilities" folder.
  4. In the "Utilities" folder, open the "Audio MIDI Setup".
  5. In the "Audio MIDI Setup" under Audio Devices, set:

    • "Default Input" to "USB Audio Codec"
    • "Default Output" to "Built In Audio"
    • "System Output" to "Built in Audio"

Now, all programs, including Audacity, will only use your internal sound card for audio output.

The video files on my usb doesnt play in my pensonic tv

As far as we know, codec support is likely to be limited to whatever Panasonic decided to support in their TV. Unfortunately the video's you play on the TV will need to be formatted in such a way that they are encoded using codecs supported by the TV. Panasonic may have the list of supported codecs in the manual of the TV hopefully otherwise you would need to ask them or play the game of encode and test until you find something that works.

If your Panasonic TV can't either read some video file like MP4, MKV, MOV etc or when it does the images are kind of distorted with poor audio, you may get some videos encoded beyond Panasonic TV's support. Something even worse, you will not be able to install codecs onto a TV like you would a PC unfortunately. An ultimate solution to get unsupported format detected by your Panasonic TV is to convert unsupported videos to a Panasonic TV more friendly format with Pavtube Video Converter

Sounds like you need codecs. There are several codec downloads out there. I personally use K Lyte codec Mega Pack. Try googling it and download. Should solve the problem.

My movie maker cannot import video from my USB. everytime i try to import my PC warning always says that it is not supported i must installed the codec. what is it mean??

Hello,

A codec is a device or computer program capable of encoding and/or decoding a digital data stream or signal. Your computer does not support the data that you are trying to transfer because the computer lacks a codec. What you need to do is to download it online.

Here is a link to page where you can download codec.

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm

I hope this helps.

Thank you for using fixya.

I'm trying to use my ION TTUSB1010 Turntable. I don't get any sound when I record or Playback. I've got Playback set to Sound max digital Audio and sound recording at USB Audio CODEC. I just get feedback...

Above is your user manual, perhaps this can help?
If you are getting feedback, that's because there is too much "Coupling" between the Mic & Amp, You may need to use a Mic, with LESS drive.
Are there any Firmware upgrades?
You also need to ensure the Recording CODEC is the same as the playback CODEC, that's a must do.

If the LED doesn't light when you plug it in, and it doesn't show up in Device Manager ("USB Composite Device" or "USB Audio Device"), then the mic must be defective. Contact Samson for a replacement.
