My asus x53e when powered upit goes into a blank black screen.i cannot get int the laptop at all.the 2 lock symbols are on my reboot disk dont work

that wouldn't mean the processor is off, it means there is a problem with the motherboard. I don't know the exact problem with the motherboard. but it could be something wrong with the processor too. but I suggest you take your PC to like Circuit city, best buy, or your local computer shop to have them take a look at.

hi, try boot to safe mode, check the display properties, settings and the refrsh rate. if not solved, reinstall the graphics controller driver..

SOURCE: Dead T4220 - 4 beeps @ POST & blinking lock symbol, screen blank

this beeps are signal of a dead cpu or memory. Check with manufacturer to confirm diagnostics.

i have the same problem with my Satellite A135-S2256, starts up all lights light up except processor light, fan turns on but CD/DVD drive wont turn on : ( any ideas on why? how to fix?

Try hooking up an external monitor to it then turn it on. If it works then you may need to replace your screen. Some of the time its cheaper, and easier, to just buy a new laptop then to replace the screen.

If you are talking about the desktop password there is no work around. Microsoft will not give you a solution other than formatting the pc because of contract agreements they have. So you can pull the HD out buy a HD docking station transfer any info you have wanted to keep then place it back in. Do a factory restore

Asus eee pc turns on, screen goes blank
If you see the system screen and the cursor, the monitor is fine. You likely either have had your operating system corrupted (I dont know if your EEE PC has Windows 7 or a Linux distribution) or it's possible your hard drive died....but i would try the OS first.


NOTE....do you have a backup of the data??? because reinstalling your operating system will format and erase your data. So if you dont have a backup, you may want to take out the hard drive and plug it into another machine and see if you can make a backup copy of the data first

After that, you choose to boot from your Operating System Disk (Windows 7 disk) follow the prompts to format and reinstall your Windows.

Sony vaio tr3a screen is black, but safemode lettering shows when I reboot with f 8 held down so I know the monitor is working but when I choose safemode and the computer tries to get into windows...

On my acer I have some F buttons with little symbols on, I know that if I press FN + F6 it will switch my laptop screen on and off, I also can use FN + F5 to swap between monitors.
These could be different on a sony though and I can't remember what F numbers you need to press, I've seen some people say FN + F4 but im not 100% sure on this..
The symbol you should be looking for could look like 2 boxes one dark one and one coloured to simulate brightness.

My geforce 6600 wont give a signal when used with this mobo, why?
Open you're manual to page 2-22. Make sure, Booting Graphic Adapter Priority is set to:
[PCI Express/Int-VGA]. Save and exit the bios. You're system will auto reboot. When you're screen goes black, press and hold the power on button until you're system shuts off. Install the 6600 video card. Double check the 6600 card. Most PCI-E cards need additional power connected to it to run.

Hey, when i power on my laptop it loads....then the screen just goes black. But It Is Still powered on. Please Help
Not positive whats wrong
butMy niece had same problem can you get into safe mode? if you can
go to safe mode run ANTIVIRUS immediatly
if you cant try this turn off then reboot the whole time hit F11 til welcome screen then type in administrator leave password blank if it lets you in fully run antivirus then do disk check and disk clean up and defrag dont leave till these are finished when fully done reboot then let disk check run when done it will go to welcome screen see if it lets you in should if its a glich or virus

hmmm,
Dont worry just boot your computer using Bootable disk or windows installation disk, enter into Recovery console by pressing"R"
type the Administrator password if any or simply press "Enter".
At the command prompt type-"fixboot"
once done restart your computer normally.

I think your laptop might be stuck in SUSPEND mode. Try unplugging the power and removing the battery and waiting five minutes, and then plugging it back in. If this does not work, try holding down the power button for ten seconds at a time and rebooting.
