Seeping outlet port.

The Sta-Rite Manual states that additional Teflon tape should be added. Should the fitting be tightened ALL the way in?? Do not want to split the tank body outlet. Thank you. Part number C176-47P1

Too much tape increases diameter of piece entering the hole!
This in due cases, will crack the item the enlarged piece is turning into. You need to be very mindful of the torque required to continue screwing it in. Hand / finger tighten then only 1/4 turn more with a wrench! No more. I usually only put on 4-5 complete wraps of teflon tape. You do not want to crack that Pump Housing.

Teflon gtape comes in several thickness's
I find the pink roll tape the best
normally plastic connections should be firm and do not have to be all the way in unless there is a rubber "o" ring at the base to do the sealing
use plenty of tape

Hose connections from pump to filter etc

what are you asking?
do you want to know how to plumb the individual pieces of equipment?
If so, skimmer port at the pool will go into the suction port of the pump, the port directly into the hair & lint pot.
discharge off the top of the pump will go into the Inlet of the filter valve, then the outlet of the filter will go to either a heater inlet port then outlet of the heater to the pool return inlet ports. If no heater, then from filter outlet directly to the pool return inlet fitting.

Good luck

My in-ground pool pump...Sta-rite 11/2 hp...leaks at the outlet fitting. Changed fitting twice, using teflon tape as recommended...still leaks.

I don't recommend Teflon tape as it places outward pressure on the pump and can cause the pump body to crack. and if that happens the pump body will need to be replaced. I use black RTV silicone. smooshing it into the threads of both fittings and hand tightening the fitting.. then the glue the pipe as normal
REMEMBER to prime the pump after any pump repair !!
Teflon tape works well on metal pump like well and irrigation, they are a high pressure pump and are generally cast iron tanks.

Do I need thread sealant ie tape or other when attaching nitto fitting to outlet tap in order to seal the thread and prevent air leak?

One should always use sealant when making connections on any pipe/fitting with pressure (gas or liquid) inside. Teflon tape is a good all-round sealer--be sure to wind it around CW so that the outside fitting is trying to tighten the tape. Good luck!

Can the water outlet be rotated from top to side

The ABG series of pumps do come with the option of a Side or a Top Discharge Port. I have nottried to spin a Top to a Side, but if the Pump Pot fits into the Housing, you may want to try it. If it does not fit properly, you will need to purchase the Side Discharge parts.
