Can I recharge car battery with my stanley dps109 digital power station

charging voltage doesnt matter as much as charging current. what you need to know is that for a battery to charge properly it needs a feed of about 2.0amps over a period of 8-10hours (my recommendation) .
you need to establish whether your charger can provide a 12volt 2.0amp output.
take a look at this link, it very useful: Charging your car battery

Hello, Leoch 12V battery, DJW12-12Ah, is no longer charging. We bought a John Deere riding toy at a local Toys R Us in Michigan three years ago. My children have only used it for two summers and is...

Sounds like a battery problem.
Lead acid batteries should to be charged every 3 or 4 months even if they are not being used, or they can slowly self-discharge and will start to deteriorate if the voltage drops below about 12.2v (for a 12v batt.)
They can then be difficult or impossible to charge. The charger can see this as fully charged and show green.
You can test for this if you have a voltmeter. You should be able to work out if it's the battery or a connection (or the charger).
Measure the battery voltage (use a DC voltage range greater than 12V). The normal voltages you should see:
A) Key off, no charger: >12v, <14
B) Key off, charger connected: >12, <14.2, but higher than A)
C) Key on, no charger: >12, <14, but lower than A)

If voltage A) is low and immediately goes high when the charger is connected then the battery needs replacing.
If A) and B) are exactly the same then it could be the charger is not connecting or is faulty. Measure the charger output, should be >13.8v (unless it's an "intelligent" charger in which case it might need some voltage applied to its output before it starts charging).

Note: If A) and B) are low, say <8v it's possible that an "intelligent" charger will refuse to start charging. In this case it's probably worth jumping the battery to a good 12v battery (e.g. car). Be very careful to connect the batteries (+) to (+) and (-) to (-). Leave connected for 10 - 20min or even overnight and then disconnect jumper leads and check A) and B) again. Sometimes a battery can be recovered by this method (it's unlikely to regain full capacity though).

NzWhat sort of charger would we need to charge the battery at home of our SJ50QT scooter? Thanks

If the battery is 12V, which i think it is, than any small 12V charger, the plug in trickle charger is the best, i have 3 of these and leave them connected 24 hours 7 days a week on my toys (bikes+car) which i dont use regularly.

I want to replace my Power Wheels battery w/lawn mower battery.

If it is a 12v power wheels, a lawnmower battery will work. I have done it on model # 73690-9993. Make sure you mark the wires on the connector pos(+) and neg(-), should be White for + and Black for -. Then cut the wires and install ring terminals that will fit the lawnmower batt. I would remove the batt. to charge it. **** will on work with 12 volt Power Wheels.****

Problems with the INJUSA 12V Jeep - Not working.

Hi Rose,

Yes, batteries can die. But other things can happen too.

If you are comfortable using a voltmeter and the battery is accessible, here are a few things to check. Set it to check DC voltage and:
  • Test the voltage on the battery, is it Low, does it read zero, does it read near 12v?
  • See if it's charging. Do the same test with the charger engaged. It should read 12V. Does it?
  • Does the battery show any signs of leakage?
  • Are the terminals clean?
Get back to me with the results and we can take it from there.
