Are you sure you have the paper the correct way - that is face down on a flat bed scanner or face up on a document feed.

When I scan a receipt a 2" line (vertical) appears. I've purchased and tried the cleaning kit but it didn't remove this black line. Please help

It seems as though the scan bar (the bright light strip that scans the document) has a faulty receptor. It needs servicing or replacement. Assuming it's under warranty take it back to your supplier for repair/replacement/refund.

Black line through the middle of the document

The thick line is either because of dust sticking to the glass or a module problem. Try different brightness settings and scan white paper. If the thickness varies and also the sides of the black strip are jaggered (step like) then it is dust on Glass. use isopropyl alcohol to clean, dont use solvents. If the teickness is same for all levels of brightness and has a sharp edge always, it could be scan module problem.

Lines through negative scans

Clean the glass surface with Iso propyl alcohol (Industrial grade is enough). Dont use any solvent. Just for immediate usage, you can use your aftershave and clean. Clen with a soft cloth.

could be the component scanner inside of the minolta , it will need to be tested to determine if the scanners components or a wire strip is causing the problem or the component scanner its self , it sounds like a section of it is out so it will not see anything ------ ---------- in that section

Epson 1640SU scanner, red line in all previews and scans

Most likely it is a spec of dust on the scanning sensor.  I recommend cleaning with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol.  More info here -
