Recognize ink cartridges

Are the cartridges the same as recommended by OEM? If not, the printer will not recognize it.
Switch off, check if printer still your default. Do a test. If no luck, go to tools and clean and align cartridges. GL

I have canon pixma 310 its say chech ink u163 what thats mean

Good Day Sandip920!

Error U163 means, the printer detected that your black ink cartridge has been refilled with new ink.
It is very easy to clear this error and keep your printer printing.

How?
1. Turn on your printer.
2. When error U163 appears, press and hold the STOP/RESET buton on the printer. Hold it down until the printer self restart and initialize.
3. if after U163 is cleared off and appear another error, U162, press and hold again the STOP/RESET button and wait till printer self restart and initialize again.

Hope this helps!

Ive replaced black ink cart but it doesnt work, still the message check ink u163 on th LCD.thank you

Either the new ink is a generic cartridge and not reset properly, or one of the other inks is empty. Your display should tell you which ink is empty. U163 just says that one of the inks is empty.

On my canon MX 310 printer I put in new Canon CL-41 Fine color cartridge and now the alarm light is lit and the screen says Check Ink U051 COL How can I correcty the problem?

You may need a new cartridge, that error says the ink cartridge is wrong or not installed properly. If it's a refilled cartridge it won't work, if it's a new canon cartridge, they warranty for 30 days from date of purchase.

Check ink u163 col-on lcd screen. the printer is not respond toany mode

Hi there,
The Error CHECK INK U163
Action : Ink has run out/
Replace the ink cartridge and close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover).

If printing is in progress and you want to continue printing , press the Stop/Reset button for atleast 5 seconds with the ink cartridge installed. Then printing can be continue under the ink out condition.

The function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled.

Replace the empty ink cartridge immediately after the printing. The resulting print quality is not satisfactory, if printing is continued under the ink out condition.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

I am getting a U163 check ink error, I just installed a new b&W cartridge but color cartridge is empty but still in printer.

Replace the ink
cartridge(s), or press the
OK button.
When selecting to press
the OK button, ink may
run out during printing.

U163 problem

More the likley, your printer's manufacturer does not allow for the use of refilled ink cartridges on their products.

Please purchase a factory new cartridge from the manufactuer of the printer.

MX310 error code U163

Hello,

Can you tell me, have you replaced the empty tank with a full one? And, have you manually reset the ink level function by pressing Stop/Reset for a full 6 seconds (one second longer than described in your manual?)

If you have, and you still see the ink cartridge light flashing, does it flash every second or every three seconds?

The contacts for the ink cartridge are easy to contaminate by accident. Sometimes wiping the contacts off with alcohol will clean them enough for the ink level to be recognized.

Now, and yes, this is a common problem. Press and Hold the Stop/Reset button for 6 full seconds again after cleaning the contacts and then release it? Use the one Mississippi method of counting.

The Scan cover must be closed completely and locked in place. And the ink cartridge must be firmly locked in place as well.

Please advise me of your results. There may be a more complex problem involved and it is important to have the necessary data in order to get you back to working again. Okay?

How long has it been since you purchased this printer?

Regards,
Worldvet
