SOURCE: upper looper will not saty trheaded to sew what

You have to thread the needles last.

1 - Take the threads out of both needles.
2 - Thread both loopers according to the diagram on your serger.
3 - Thread the needles.

If this fails, you need to bring it to a pro for service.

How Do You Turn Off The Knife

Be very careful. Stitching without the knife could damage the loopers (if the fabric laps over into the looper path). Most upper knives can be disengaged by pushing in and rotating upwards at the same time.

How do I take the knife down?? I don't want to use it.

Usually, the upper knife can be lifted, but that is usually for the purpose of cleaning or threading. HOWEVER, it is recommended to never use the serger without the knives. What frequently happens is the fabric gets too far to the right and then interferes with the loopers. When that happens, the loopers can be damaged/broken. If you don't want to cut, just guide the fabric edge slightly to the left of the knife action so the fabric is not cut.

The tread from the lower looper is not being picked up by the upper looper how o i fix this?

Best advice would be to consult your owner's manual. The most common serger problems are caused by incorrect threading or not threading the threads in the proper order. With most sergers, the upper looper should be threaded first. The lower looper is threaded second and the lower looper thread tail should drape OVER the upper looper. Then thread the needles.

Be sure when threading that each thread is pulled snugly into the tension disks.

Can I disengage the upper looper on the White Speedylock 1634? If so, How? My manual says nothing about it. I want to do a hem on a sleeve that has two parallel top stitches and the lock-stitch underneath...

No. You would want to disengage your upper KNIFE not upper looper to do this but you need a serger with the COVER STITCH feature to do this. You can get the same effect using a twin needle on your sewing machine. Hope this helps!

I have a acme serger 5, brand new. We have threaded it according to the cd, I even had my son do it also, but the one of the bottom loopers thread keep breaking. I bought serger interlock thread. It will...

I will make this easy first always thread the machine upper looper then lower looper then the needles if a thread breaks especially if it was one of the loopers, make sure to pull the needle thread out before hand then rethread. as for the breakages look to see if the loopers are hitting each other when they cross and see if the needles are hitting the loopers when they go together either of these things will cause problems if so it will need to be looked at by a tech

Upper and lower parts hitting

It sounds like the timing of the loopers is out they will need to be reset correctly within millimeters. If not done properly they can hit and bend or break easily and most are not cheap parts. Best it goes to a repair centre as it will work out more cost effective than the damaged caused by getting it wrong.
