Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Power off laptop, press to power on and keep tapping F8..a menu should pop up,select safe mode. if you can get it started in safe mode do a system restore. if you dont mind loosing everything on it you could also format it ( check your model number and pressing a different button as it boots will take you to factory rest menu ) ...hope this helps
