Hi Allen

An easy way to tell is look for an oil dipstick. If the motor has one, it's a four-stroke.

I have a mariner Bigfoot 15 hp ser no OG 811362 it says on casing that it is 4 stroke but the guy I bought it from said it is 2 stroke how can I find this out with the use of she no

According to the ser #, your engine is 4 stroke. Does the engine have a dip stick to check oil level, a 2 stroke will not have this as it uses a fuel/oil mix. Also it will have an oil filter on 4 stroke. Hope this helps.

Do I use reg gas or a gas mix?

Matt, If engine is two stroke and not oil injected then yes you must mix 2 stroke oil and fuel. 4 stroke engine have a crank case which is filled to proper level with 4 stroke engine oil. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

What sroke is a masport 635. is it two or 4 stroke. it has an openping for the petrol and a seperate opening for the oil.

Judging from what discription you are giving me I would say it is a 4 stroke, so make sure you have either sae 30 or 10/w30 oil in crankcase where it says oil and petrol (gas) in the other tank. 2StrokeJim

I have a Poulan 625 push mower. What type of oil should I use in it? I can't find my manual.

If it has a 4 stroke engine, as most lawnmowers do, then you just car engine oil. Very occasionally you come across 2 stroke mowers.

The way to know if it's a 4 stroke or 2 stroke engine is, if it has an oil tank it's a 4 stroke engine. If there's only the one tank, i.e. you mix the oil with the petrol then it's a 2 stroke engine.

If it's a 2 stroke engine you mix petrol and 2 stroke oil at a ratio of 40:1

Is the engine 2 stroke or 4 stroke

Honda engines are traditionally 4 stroke. If the exhaust comes out of the head it is a 4 stroke, if the exhaust comes out of the cylinder it is a two stroke.

Hi, on a poulan Titanium chain saw, what is the carb ajustment? Thanks Douglas Neil

Turn both jet screws CW to stops (lightly), then back both out 1-1/2 turns CCW each. This is a basic setting and the engine should start and run. Allow to warm up, then pull the throttle full on--the engine should 4-stroke. Adjust the H needle CW until the engine speeds up somewhat, but continues to 4-stroke. Correct adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and adjust L CW until the engine runs fairly well, but still allows the engine to 'follow-the-throttle'. Adjust idle speed so that the chain stops turning, but the engine continues to run. Hope this helps!

Carnt keep ryobi pcn 4545 running when i increse the power

How do you increase the power to an electric saw? By your question, I'm assuming a fueled engine model. Check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for any plugging. Check condition of fuel lines and tightness of carburetor fasteners. If no help, turn the H jet needle CCW about 1/4 turn--which should result in the engine 4-stroking. Will the engine now run at speed (but not as fast as before)? If ok, warm the engine up, open the throttle and adjust H CW until the engine speeds up somewhat, but still 4-stroking. Proper adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. This produces best power and least heat! Hope this helps!
