We have a GE side by side that was only 4 years old before it starting giving us problems-coiling freezing over. The warranty period was only one year on all parts, including the compressor. Through our research we learned that profile appliances have or did have a better warranty. I believe it is 5 years on all or certain components. Either way it may be worth contacting GE customer service to help you with the issue and determine if repairs and parts for your appliance are still covered under warranty. They were very helpful in our case and ultimately discounted the parts I ordered and replaced myself. Replaced the the temperature sensors on the freezer side, the defroster thermostat and defroster heater before finally breaking down and replacing the control board. The control board was the problem. It was very easy to replace. While working through the issue, we would defrost the coils located on the inside of the freezer side with a hair dryer. It would get us by until the parts came in or they frosted over again and prevented air from circulating over them, thus causing the freezer not to cool. Good luck. Hope this helps you.

My ge frig side by side the frig side 65 degrees why need help model number tfx22zrxd

You probably have a defrost problem -accumulation of frost on the freezer back panel. check for frost first then ask additional questions.
if no frost exist, check the condenser motor under the fridge and also clean the coils.

The evaperator for the drip under the bottom of the unit is probably dirty or has gone bad. Pull the fridge out and look under the bottom and you should see a pan with a coil above it. Clean the coil and the pan. If this does not correct the problem, then a new coil is in order. Also vacuum the back of the fridg if it has exposed coils to increase efficiency.

How to make me ge 29.8cu.ft. be more energy efficent. it is a older is a profile tfh30pr. it seems it runs a lot.

If your fridge seems to be running a lot more than normal, it is likely because the heat dissipation coils are clogged with dust. Most likely they are located on the bottom of fridge.
There should be a removable kick plate under the door. Often just snaps in.
Remove kick plate and use a vacuum hose to vac out the dust bunnies.
At your local hardware store you should be able to buy cheaply a long skinny brush to reach between coils and clean out.
You should pull the whole fridge out and get it from back also.
This will increase the efficiency on your fridge.
If you notice no change at all, or if you've done this already, it's possible the fridge has a problem.

GSS25KGMB CC side by side GE fridge not cool.

You should check first to see if the condenser coil is dirty ( condenser coil is the Fin type coil you see in front of the compressor ) You can clean this by just brushing it out with a brush .The relay is plugged directly onto the compressor

The main control board is going bad . This is the electronic board behind the 8 x 10 inch panel , on the back of the refrig . Your relay on the compressor is ok .

Re GE TFX26ZP sid by side fridge Evaporator coil keep ice on it

the defrost thermostat should be clamped onto the evap coils..defrost timer should be under fridge. If this is a newer model, it might have an ecm ( comp control) on top of the compressor..
