check your oil. make sure that it don't smells like gas. if so, you'll need to over haul the carburetor and change the oil too. your unit sounds like its over heating. you could also have a coil ,thats going bad too. good luck

Honda gcv 160 engine

Does this unit have an electronic fuel shutoff on the bottom of the carburetor?... If so, that is your problem. Otherwise, you will need to remove the carburetor, service it..

If u want test it first... Spray some carburetor cleaner into the plug hole then reinstall the plug. Start the engine, if it runs for a few seconds, u definitely have a fuel issue, carb....

U can buy a rebuild kit for the carburetor.

Also, go to you tube and search, how to service a 4 cycle carburetor..many videos to learn how...

I need a carburetor gasket diagram for och gcv160 motor

You need to determine which gasket and heat dams you have but following link should give an idea of how they go. Sorry can't give any better setup as there is too many variations to consider on these engines.

Can't push troy bilt lawn tractor when it is in neutral

It sounds like the tractor is hydro, if so you need to find the release lever to allow it to move in neutral.
Most hydros have the lever under the seat or at the back of the tractor just behind the back wheels.
if and when you find it, it will need to be slid across and locked in to the operset position or pulled out, depending on what type it is.

Hope this helps

I have a Troy-Bilt mower 5.5HP Model #:12A-264u011 While i was mowing it just died and when I pushed the primer it wasn't getting any fuel

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.
