A hard reset in this case would most easily be done by manually holding down the power button until the device powers off. You could also try "burping" the device by disconnecting the battery while it is still powered on.

"Hard reset" means really "hardware reset" and there's supposed to be no codes at all. Just push a button (refer to your UG).
